there's a day all the top Freelancers look up to, it's sort of like a "vacation" the moi stops at earth to do a resupply of equipment, food etc

being top Freelancers who work all the time they get some paid time off and get to go in the city and all that, Wash was originally planning on training but York was like "come on dude! This is your first free week right? It'll be fun."

Wash is hesitant which is when Theta notices the skateboard in his locker, he questions it and York answers for him

"He never uses it, unfortunately."

"I- I used to use it. I just haven't really.. had the time-"

"Well now you do Wash! Are you good at skating? I really want to see."

Of course Wash gives in because why would you say no to Theta, who would say no to that sweet boy.

My hc as well as many others- Wash has freckles e v e r y w h e r e, another thing i imagined was while their in the city

(Basically the trio, North York and wash)

York suggest to go into this one skating place in the city which made wash laugh a bit as he "used to go there a lot" but once they get in North notices a veryyyy specific photo.

When Wash said he's good at skating he meant it, canonically younger wash had a lot of anger issues, he almost fcking blinded a kid when he wasn't even in high school so imagine what he was like in high school.

imagine the big group of Freelancers walking into a skateboard place and the first thing they see is this big photo of a bunch of people who look like teenagers and there's wash in all his glory, arm draped over two people with his tongue poking out, he's wearing a singlet and a jacket tied around his waist.

it's a picture that has tons of signatures from everyone including wash but ofc no one knows who's wash as he had gone by a nickname during this time, what made everyone keep staring was the very obvious eyebrow piercing as well as the fact he had a massive tattoo of what looked like a koi fish on his arm

York is the one that points it out while saying "holy shit" wash tells him that it's not actually a tattoo, his sister liked to draw on him all the time

a guy approaches them and immediately gets excited, he does a whole secret handshake with wash while saying "Davey! God- how are you doing dude?! Haven't seen you in a long time!"

three girls walk over and immediately start hugging wash, one of them kisses him on the forehead and hugs him tightly while picking him up

the first dude is an old friend of his, same with the two girls and the third girl- his sister. Wash canonically has tons of siblings, specifically sisters.

This sister in particular is his one of his older then him by only four years, he regularly talks with his sisters, not all of them- only the ones that actually respond to him, he had actually secretly planned to go to this place anyways but was only hesitant earlier bc it wasn't like he didn't tryst North and York, he felt embarrassed by his past but their excitement as just a little hobby of washs made him change his mind

Wash introduces everyone to the Freelancers, York is excited as fuck about this because he loves wash and this??? experiencing this made him feel closer to wash, as if this place was something personal

wash walking around without his armour made him happy enough but being there with washs old friends made him feel s p e c i a l

Theta: "Wash says he is very good at skateboarding. Has he won any trophy's?"

his sister: "good? he's great at it. Should have seen him in highschool- almost got expelled because of it-"

wash: "hey THAT wasn't my fault. Technically it was Rose's since she told me that-"

his sister: "she tells you that the principal suddenly lifted the ban on skateboarding and you believed her? Thats your fault David."

wash: ".. I hate you."

North is somewhat good at skateboarding but York? he sucks at it. Wash decided to "show off some of his skills" and try to play it casually but he starts to get really into it and start zoning out while doing it and when he stops York and Theta are fanboying all over him

being his older sister of course she has to embarrass him with old photos, including a photo of wash in his emo phase except it wasn't a bad emo phase where he's all depressed and shit, it was just a phase where wash got really into the emo aesthetic and even dyed his hair black, his mom refused to let him get a tongue piercing so he got an eyebrow piercing instead.

Another "embarassing" photo is him sitting on top of the hood of a police car while wearing sunglasses,he's making a smug ass expression while holding a water gun, wash mentions that the photo was a dare, he got introuble for that and had to apologise to the cop

the last "embarrassing" photo was him on his high school graduation night, it was a series of photos and this is when York and North finally find out Washs sexual orientation, Wash during pfl era is bisexual

In the first photo he's posing with a guy, both of them in suits- the guy has his arm around his waist

in the next photo was wash puking over a toilet while the guy takes a selfi with the text "living the highschool movie dream!"

(note: I puked during my graduation ball, made a joke about how in almost every highschool movie the mc pukes during the ball, also found out I was kn my period DURING the ball and my feet got fcking bruiser after someone stomped on them so yay)

the next couple photos are just random photos from the ball with one of them wash is practically making out with the guy which made the first photo make sense

the last photo from the "graduation photo series" is wash collapsed on the mattress in his bedroom, not even bothering to change out of his clothes with the text "someone's exhausted <3"

Howdy! So, I was thinking,, hear me out, lmao; Felix taking care of a drunk reader.

Felix thinks you’re hilarious, first off. He eggs you on too. Every time you say something, he goes “oh yeah?” and waits to see what you follow up with. He keeps his arm around you the whole night. Kissing your cheek, and chuckling whenever you get flustered. You don’t have to worry while he’s around, he keeps an eye on you and makes sure nobody tries anything funny. He buys your drinks too. By the end of it, he gets you to down at least one glass of water, and takes you home for cuddles. He made out with you a little bit at first, but huffed and backed off as soon as he realized just how drunk you were. He gives you his favorite hangover remedy in the morning.

“Woah...a stripper?”He looked surprised when you told him, blinking a few times, like if he wasn’t sure he was awake. 

“Yes, a professional stripper.”You let out a sigh, and that smug grin curved his lips. 

“Can I have a private show then?”

North

“If we are going to be in a relationship I wanted you to know that.” You finished your speech, only to see him open-mouthed at your confession. But he agreed to your job as long as you were comfortable with it, and you had eyes for him. 

Washington

When you told him, he thought you were joking, he even laughed a bit, but everything turned uncomfortable when he noticed you were being serious. He blushed brightly even when you offered him a private show, but anyways he agreed. 

Wyoming

You told him when you were alone with him in his room, dancing for him to the rhythm of the slow music and he told you you were a good dancer.

“Well, I’m a professional stripper, what did you expect?”

Maine

When you told him he was silent, processing and thinking if he should say anything at all. It was okay if you worked as a professional stripper and you liked it. He trusted you and everything was going to be okay since he respected your decision.

There was no need to tell him, you just danced for him, just like you did on your job, he’d be smiling at you anyways, also, he would visit you on your job to watch your shows.

You’ve come down with some kind of illness, and Doc’s here to nurse you back to health. Spoiler alert: You survive.

The whole thing took you completely by surprise.

Yesterday you felt perfectly fine. You had “patrol,” made Caboose PB&J for lunch, took part in a small firefight with the Reds. At the closest approximation of 3AM on a planet that experienced eternal daylight, you and Tucker sipped expired fruit juice on the battlements together in the hopes of somehow getting drunk, and had another round of bullshit!philosophy hour while Church and Caboose took their turn sleeping. He made up something at one point that sounded vaguely nihilistic, to try and convince you to make out with him. You laughed harder at him than you had at anything in years.

The next morning though, you felt like absolute shit.

“I called your boyfriend,” Church said pitilessly. He was leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest.

“No!” You groaned. You were sitting up in your cot, dazed and bleary-eyed, with blankets pooled around your lap. Not too dazed however to forget that getting Doc involved could possibly kill you. “Are you serious?”

“Yeah, here's the thing: I know he's utterly useless and infuriating, but I also know I'm sure as hell not nursing you back to health.”

“Yeah, fffffuuuuck that!” Tucker loudly agreed from the other room. The fickle, traitorous bastard.

“You don't even have to take care of me, though!” You pleaded. “I'm, I'm not even that bad! You can just... just have Caboose bring me a glass of water every hour, or something! I'll get plenty of rest, and I'll be all better in no time! No nursing necessary.”

Church forced out a brisk, humorless “ha.” Then, “Yeah no. Don't think so.”

You glowered at him, and flopped back down onto your cot with a huff. Instantly, your head swam from the quick movement, and you groaned pitifully.

“He should be here soon.”

You groaned again—louder this time—and rolled over to face away from Church and the doorway he stood in.

After a minute, you heard him step away from the doorway and leave. You kept your eyes trained on the featureless wall across from you as a muffled conversation started up in a nearby room.

You were too busy frowning, that you didn't notice yourself nod off.

You came to with a start. Strangely cold, and with no concept of time.

You'd managed to kick the blanket off of your cot while you were asleep. You tried to sit up and reclaim it, but a fit of dizziness forced you back onto your pillow.

Your head was fuzzy—like it was stuffed full of cotton. Thinking felt like slogging through water.

You rolled onto your stomach and tucked your arms under your body in the hopes that would warm you up some. After a few minutes, you drifted off again.

Your brain slowly swam back into consciousness along with the room around you. It was fuzzy at the edges, and it took you several seconds of confusion to recognize it as your own. The world felt strange—you felt strange. For a minute, you thought you could see a figure milling about in the doorway.

“Keep your distance, Caboose.”

You heard Church's stern voice coming from the other room. It sounded muffled and warped, like you were hearing it from underwater.

“You hear me? One sick idiot's enough. I don't wanna have to deal with two.”

You missed Caboose's response as you sank back into a warm, murky sleep.

At some point during that third nap, you had a fever dream. Over a dozen tiny, purple Churches climbed in through your window (even though your room had no windows, and was also underground). They cackled maniacally in concert, lifted you out of your bed, and attempted to carry you out the window. You tried to fight them, but you felt too weak and could hardly move.

When you woke up, Doc was picking your blanket up off the floor.

“... Frank?”

“Hi, sweetie.” Doc sounded distracted. He shook your blanket out, then carefully draped it over you.

“I had the weirdest dream just now...” You muttered dazedly.

“Really?” Doc answered pleasantly while tucking you in. Going slowly, so he didn't leave even the smallest part of you uncovered. “What about?” When he was finished, he patted your knee gently. You vaguely noticed he wasn't wearing his gauntlets right now.

You squinted at the ceiling, blinked, and tried to recall your dream. The more you focused on it, however, the quicker it seemed to escape you-- like sand slipping through your fingers. “I don't... remember.”

“That's fine. If you remember any of it later, I'd love to hear it.”

Without further preamble, Doc began scanning you.

Your eyes lazily followed the green glow as he passed it from your toes up to your head. When he made a thoughtful noise, your eyes flicked back to his helmet in curiosity.

“Hm... looks like your temperature's at 105.”

“What?!” Your presence of mind returned in a landslide. You shot up, and instantly regretted it as you were hit by a wave of pain and dizziness. Spots danced in your vision as you slumped back onto your pillow. You felt like you were going to throw up.

“... Or that could be your blood pressure...”

“Oh my god.” You whimpered. Your boyfriend was going to kill you.

Not seeming to hear you, Doc made another thoughtful noise. “Ah-- you know what, 105 isn't bad for either of them. I'm sure it's fine.” He laughed good-naturedly, setting his scanner aside to start tucking the edges of the newly disturbed blanket back under you.

You almost wanted to cry; but you were too tired, too feverish, and felt too done with life to bother. Instead, you let your body go limp, and stared blankly at the ceiling.

“Based on Church's description, you weren't this bad earlier...” Doc said thoughtfully.

After a moment, you made a soft, non-committal noise that sounded like agreement.

“Have you been staying hydrated?”

You slowly turned your head to look at him, and blinked.

“I'll take that as a 'no'.” Doc picked up his gauntlets from your bedside table. “Be back in a jiffy!”

You returned your gaze to the ceiling as he left the room. This was a terrible idea. Calling your boyfriend was a terrible idea. You loved him, but he was going to try to solve the problem by rubbing aloe vera on your neck, or sticking your feet in a bucket of... of... quinoa, and then your ridiculously high fever was going to kill you.

Distantly, you hoped that your funeral wouldn't be shit. You were there for Church's funeral, and Tex's funeral, and those funerals were shit-- and actually, come to think of it; didn't you, Tucker and Caboose leave Church's body to rot up on the cliffs originally? You hoped Church didn't remember that-- or didn't hold a grudge, at the very least.

Distantly; you realized you were screwed.

Doc returned while you were in the middle of a fever-fueled existential crisis.

“Alright-- I'm going to need you to sit up, if you can. I'll help.”

When his words registered, you propped yourself up on your elbows partway. He slipped one power-armored arm through the newly freed space, and delicately hoisted you up into a sitting position.

Your head swam at your new vantage. You felt something cold and metallic press against your lips, and realized Doc was holding a canteen up for you to drink from.

Gratefully, you parted your lips, and cool water poured in between them. It splashed down your sore throat, and soothed some of the swelling.

Doc waited for you to drink your fill. He closed the canteen and set it aside. “Feeling any better?”

You weakly raised one arm, and gave him a thumbs up. “Mmf.” You let your head loll onto his shoulder.

“Wonderful,” Doc said warmly. “Staying hydrated is always important, but the absolute best cure for an illness--” He trailed off as he wrapped both arms around you, and hugged you gently to his chest. “Is a hug.”

You frowned up at his visor in confusion. Wasn't he going to catch what you have?

Even under your scrutiny, Doc continued to hold you. He shucked the gauntlet off of one hand and petted his bare palm soothingly over the crown of your head.

Despite the relative uselessness of the gesture, Doc's power armor and dry palm both felt comfortably cool against your feverish skin. The petting as well felt surprisingly good, and your eyelids drooped closed more and more with each stroke of his hand. “Mmmmmm...” You hummed in pleasure.

Doc chuckled at that. “See? You feel better already.” He smoothed the sweat-damp hair off of your forehead, and kissed your brow. “I'm sorry your team doesn't have very good bedside manners. Now that I'm here, we'll have you back to normal in no time.”

Doc's calm, even tone comforted you. But there was still something bothering you. “... Won't you... get sick, too?” You muttered.

“Hm?...” Doc paused as what you said registered. Then a moment later, his hand continued its gentle petting. “Oh, there's no need to worry. Now that the symptoms are showing, you shouldn't be contagious anymore. Assuming, of course, you even were to begin with.”

You hummed in dazed thoughtfulness. Was that actually true? It was always hard to tell with him.

Doc pressed another kiss to your brow, then rested his cheek against the crown of your head. He rocked you gently. “... You should come with me this time, when I leave... it feels like I only ever get to spend time with you when you get hurt, and that happens way too much for my comfort.”

“... My team...” You muttered.

“They're not very nice. They don't take care of you at all. They just left you in here with no food or water all day and all night.”

You hummed softly.

“And there's no way they'll let me stay for too long... think it over, ok? If you ever want to be around someone who actually watches out for you. The offer's always open.”

You didn't want to think about it right now. But the thought of getting to be held like this all the time was appealing. The rocking, actually, was putting you into this weird hyper-calm state where your thoughts flowed by as a distant stream.

“... We could have a vegetable garden...” Doc began softly, after a little while. “Grow all kinds of things... maybe Donut would want to stay with us, too. He grew up on a farm. He'll know how to grow any kind of plant we want. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? Just the three of us?”

Doc's voice was so calming. You felt yourself drifting off as if he were reading you a bedtime story.

“Grow our own food, so we don't have to rely on rations and junk food from the city all the time. Give you all sorts of healthy things to eat...”

Doc's voice was steadily growing farther away.

“Keep you from getting sick... from getting hurt... won't be people arguing and yelling around you all the time...”

After a while, you couldn't tell what he was saying anymore. His voice devolved into a soft, pleasant, wordless murmur as sleep swallowed you up into heavy thoughtless oblivion.

Sure thing! Although, now you’ve got me thinking about how poly would work with them. |’D

Carolina wakes up at an ungodly hour every morning to do Tai Chi and go for a run. If you’re still asleep, she wakes you up with kisses when she gets back– but sometimes, she wakes you up before she leaves and makes you go with her. Helps you get dressed while you’re half asleep and cranky, then pulls you out into the cold dewy morning.Once you’re both back home–however that happens–your morning together properly starts. There’s warm oversized sweaters, coffee with ¼th of hot chocolate mixed in, eggs and beans for breakfast. Carolina reads the news on her tablet, and you two sit in comfortable silence. Sometimes with some music on, sometimes the two of you talk and she teases you lightly. It’s a very relaxed time whenever there isn’t anyone rushing out the door.There’s a kiss before you two part ways for the day.

Tex isn’t always there whenever you wake up. Sometimes she’s not in bed but still in the house, and other times she’s already gone for the day. Sometimes, you wake up before her, and you wake her up with kisses. Sometimes she’s waking you up with kisses because she wants to get it on.When you have your morning together, the first thing Tex does when she gets out of bed is work-out. She has free weights and a pull-up bar, and she installs herself in the most inconvenient places possible so you have to edge around her. When she’s in a good mood she coos at you and shows off and just makes an absolute nuisance of herself.She takes her coffee black, and that’s all she has for breakfast. She leaves once she’s done drinking it– or she waits until you’re ready, and takes you to school or work on her motorcycle.

Do you have headcanons for poly!Lolix if the reader gets injured?

I do! This is one of those requests that I received like a year ago, and am finally answering. :’I

If the reader gets injured, whatever the situation, their first focus is always on making sure the danger’s passed. If it’s a combat situation, one of them gets you out of the way, while the other either lays down cover fire or takes out the remaining hostiles.

When there’s no immediate danger… that’s one less thing to distract them from the fact that you’re hurt. Locus immediately sets his jaw and takes charge, assessing the severity of your wounds and figuring out if it’s something they can take care of themselves or if they need to bring you to a professional. Renders what first aid he can. The knot in his brow tightens a little more with every pained noise you make.Felix, meanwhile, doesn’t need to be the one holding it together right now, and is thus looking paler than usual. When he’s not focused on getting whatever Locus is telling him to get, he’s trying to find something else to do so he doesn’t have time to panic. He’s holding you, and stroking your hair, and coaxing you into squeezing his hand or biting his shoulder as hard as you need to. And all the while he’s talking talking talking, saying anything and everything that might possibly distract you from the pain.

If it’s a small injury, that’s easily handled and quickly recovered from, that’s the end of it. Maybe they both do some hovering during the recovery stages to make sure you don’t reinjure yourself somehow–Felix denying he’s hovering–but then that’s the end of it.

If it’s not a small injury… this is the sort of situation in which the “us against them” mentality really comes to the forefront. They shut off and become reclusive from the outside world for a time, and just focus inward–on you–until you’re better again. They’re colder and more hostile to outsiders than usual, and can get stand-offish even with long-time friends. More private, cagey when asked, and always hurrying to get back home. Suspicious of anyone coming near you. Similar in behavior to a broody hen, or a cat with newborn kittens.

Hey man, I know this is super late but I've been real busy lately and my mind's been all over the place but if it's not an issue can I get head canons for what Carolina and Tex is like on Valentine's day?

Sure!!

Carolina might forget what day it is whenever she’s working, but she’s very happy to do Valentine’s Day with you. She’s open to the idea of going out to dinner, especially if there will be dancing (she loves dancing). She gets dressed up and does her hair and makeup all nice.She absolutely gets you a gift, and it’s very thoughtful. She doesn’t get mad if you don’t give her a gift in return, but she’s still a little put out if you don’t. She blushes and smiles, and teases you gently. She absolutely loves chocolate! She tries to resist the temptation to buy chocolate throughout the year and usually doesn’t succeed– but hey, this is a special occasion, right? ;)

Tex, on the other hand, doesn’t believe in Valentine’s Day. She doesn’t make plans unless you want to, and then it’s still just mostly you suggesting places to go and things to do. She’d prefer to stay in (mostly to SMASH but she’s also down for a quiet evening of cuddling), but a pricey dinner out (ESPECIALLY if you’re paying) is fine too. She hates being around all the mushy couples.Although she doesn’t believe in Valentine’s Day, she still more or less expects gifts (if you give her chocolate coins she playfully punches your arm). She’s generally flattered by whatever you give her. If she likes you enough, she gets you flowers or chocolate (her partner’s gender doesn’t matter), or whatever she thinks you’d like.

After all that business with PFL, Carolina has a lot of growing and adapting to do. And she’s also a lot more cautious. She’s got a lot of baggage that she clings to with a vice grip. Everything with her father, the way she blames herself for her team falling apart, and the memories of Connie Maine and York all hang over her head. For the longest time, she can’t focus on anything else. Until she gets that closure at the end of season 10, her brain is everywhere but romance– and in fact, if she starts to develop a fondness for someone, she’s very quick to push it away and go into denial over its existence.

If she finds herself watching someone a bit too long, she shrugs it off as something else. Defending them in a fight is just basic teamwork and watching each other’s backs.

Ultimately, she reaches a point where she’s more ready to be involved with someone than she ever was before. (Before, being, when she was too focused on gaining the approval of someone who would never care, to give proper attention to what was right in front of her.)

It’s a wonderful time where she’s trying to fight back against the unhealthy habits and ways of thinking she’s learned over the years, and it’s all the better if there’s someone there to focus on and strive to be better for.

It’s a fight sometimes to convince her to stay and be emotionally involved and present in a relationship (and there for her friends, too. You have to track her down and practically twist her arm to get her to visit her friends when they’re in the hospital). It makes her uncomfortable, and she’s gotten used to avoiding and running away from her feelings rather than dealing with them (she doesn’t know how). She always looks for something concrete to strive for or fight against.

But she wants to. Oh, she wants to. She’s learned her lesson, and the absolute last thing she ever wants is to be distant like her father.

It’s a lot of hard conversations and arguments for the longest time. She’s trying her best and doesn’t always succeed. Sometimes she disappears for the night, or a couple of days. But she always comes back looking like the dog who knows she did something wrong.

She looks at you when she’s at a loss, sometimes. Without even realizing it. You become her anchor when she’s in unfamiliar social situations, and she’s more willing to go into them when you’re at her side.

She was never comfortable with PDA, but she forces herself to hold your hand in public. It’s as much proof to herself that she’s different now as it is proof that you’re involved.

She’s rushing trying to change and it’s easy to see.

When it’s just the two of you, she can relax. Really relax. She’s the biggest nerd you’ve ever met. Her jokes are so bad.

Her pickup lines are, too. But they’re also somehow simultaneously so smooth you get weak at the knees. And she teases you, too. Knows just how to get you all flustered.

Over time, she starts teasing you in front of others more. And they’re typically always ???? so confused???? is this actually Carolina what.

Also shE SHOWS OFF. ALL THE TIME. DO YOU WANT TO SEE HER TAKE DOWN HER SPARRING PARTNER IN ONE SMOOTH JUDO MOVE? DO YOU WANT TO WATCH HER DO 100 PULL-UPS?? LOOK AT HOW FAST SHE IS, LOOK–

She says something witty or does something cool, and glances at you automatically for your reaction.

She gets this confident smirk sometimes, that you’ve gotten so used to, you can just tell when she’s doing it by her body language and the sound of her voice, even when her helmet’s on. It’s the most attractive thing in existence.

She wakes up early early in the morning and does tai chi next to the bed to wake herself up. You watch her sometimes, half asleep, without her knowing. Whenever she catches you, she kisses your head and tells you to go back to sleep. You can tell she’s a little embarrassed.
