❛ rabastan, tell me. how’s the mark treating you ? ❜
these were the moments she appreciated -- the quietness of Appleby, sitting cross legged a few yards away from her house, the breeze rustling the rather unkept grass, something she should have probably taken care of early in the morning, but it had been the last thing on her mind till she sat down and waited. her dress fluttering with the wind, she was nearly bouncing with excitement -- her mum had ushered her out of the house, her energy was more distracting than productive as she took care of lunch. it was only a matter of time till rabastan got here - this was the longest they had been apart since they had starter their wild journey. from his last letter -- he had found a place with longbottom, eagerly waiting for her input and as far as she was concerned - as long as it wasn’t the lestrange manor, she had no complaints.
she could drive herself mad fixating on something she couldn’t control or she could have faith in him -- in the fact that he was going to show up, that they had promised that they were going to make it through this and if this was going to be their reality - she knew he had to meet her parents, she wasn’t going to be meeting his unless her luck was poor. so she waited, closing her eyes to bask in the sun till she heard a faint pop - eyes fluttering open quickly, smile wide as she drank in the sight of him -- merlin, she had missed him.

the smile that tugged at his lips was OBNOXIOUSLY BRIGHT -- insufferable at best, “hey buddy -- i’ve been looking for you” grinning as he clutched his own bottle tightly, he was allowed some fun for the night and as long as he was reprimanding the younger years - it couldn’t be so BAD , right? this was by far the most tipsy he had been in quite some time --
“how much do you hate me right now?” sheepish smile at his lips, despite the utter joy that came with winning -- he didn’t ever want to be the reason why rabastan didn’t get what he wanted - the boy was born to play PROFESSIONALLY and he wouldn’t be able to stomach being the reason why he couldn’t.

she had been looking everywhere for him -- she was LIVID, the type of anger that was crippling to her heart because despite it, worry weaselled its way into her heart at the thought of the state of him, but she couldn’t ignore mary macdonald’ cry for help. even if their was RAGE directed at her, she was right -- she was accountable, wasn’t she? he was still her responsibility in a way ---
“rabastan” eyes on his, her glare nearly DEADLY as she interrupted his moment with his a boys club, “a word” teeth grinding as she forced out a word that he didn’t deserve in this moment, “please”
@rvbvstn
she couldn’t HIDE from him any longer -- it had only been three days of silence and yet it was killing her, he had been so scarce -- she had been so sure that after the fight that he’d seek her out, but he didn’t. she couldn’t help but wonder who was actually avoiding who. his words had wounded her PRIDE and her anger was a reflection of her own guilt, and the disappointment that he would ever think that she’d be the one to leave. she always thought that he would.
moving through the crowd as she clutched her cup tightly -- it didn’t take too long to find him, teeth sinking in to her lip as he was surrounded by his housemates. lifting her hand up awkwardly to wave as she caught his gaze for just a moment, she moved to lean against the oak tree as she tried to push down her eagerness to speak to him -- to at least have him a foot away. trying to push out the thoughts that left her wondering if he’d just stand there and ignore her -- she would deserve it, wouldn’t she?
@rvbvstn
emmeline had never been someone who can simply ignore impending doom -- that quiet voice in her head never really allowed her to live in DENIAL -- so she did what could and faced it head on, or at least she was trying -- she had owled him, they had too much to talk about for her to ignore it and continue on in her happy little bubble. that’s what had her in the quidditch pitch well after curfew - besides it being their spot, this was the only place that she could be guaranteed PRIVACY -- with the season over, no one was out here late, “hello corvus--” frail smile tugging at her lips as she watched him, “didn’t interrupt anything, did i?”
@rvbvstn
she stood outside his common room -- foot tapping away nervously as she waited for him. she was filled with quiet dread, the kind that tended to manifest when he wasn’t in front of her -- seeing him made it better. it calmed the worry that was built up in her head and perhaps it was the fear that if she parted from him too long, that he would be left to his own thoughts -- helplessness was a dangerous thing. it was kind of feeling that came with longing -- longing for something that was familiar and for him that could very much be his brother. the last thing she had wanted was to do rounds with aveline and leave him alone, but the last thing she needed was aveline allaire on her case - not when they were just fine.
she had wanted to get her head on straight, despite the worries that were raging in her after her chat with aveline -- what she had needed to clean herself of the day was a hot shower, it was a small checklist she needed to get done before she dedicated her night to him, she had assured that she was covered, “hey you --” she murmured, fingers tugging on her wet strands as she kicked off the wall and approached him.

emmeline vance was properly BUZZED -- sitting down on the plush green armchair, she rested her head against the cushion as she watched the crowds for the man of the hour -- maybe she had a bit too much to drink, it was supposed to help with the nerves and being surrounded by a house she wasn’t necessarily close with - maybe she was a tad shy.
“i would throw myself at you, but i don’t think i can handle it right now--” she breathed out, smile wide and bright as she finally set her sights on him.
