Unnecessary – perhaps that is what he would have said if it weren’t for the cuts and burns, the ragged breathing and lack of a singular target to focus on. However, that was not the case, and because of that, Leo was not opposed to having another set of hands to use.

“damn. wonder how many nohrians are depressed just from the fuckin’ WEATHER around here?” the hoshidan shuddered as he followed the king into the castle, pulling his cloak tighter around himself. it looked like it would engulf him any minute, a heavy piece of dull brown cloth that would better suit... well, no one, in truth. it was all practicality over fashion for kyo---save for the gold rings that glinted on most of the fingers of both of his hands.
“and YOU,” he added abruptly, thankful as the warmth of krakenberg washed over them. “how d’you stand it? gods know why i’m askin’---i don’t really wanna know the answer or anything.” he shrugged. “we can skip over all those dumb small talky things, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Mitama was quiet for a long moment, really giving Leo’s question some thought. She was a healer; she ought to be able to solve a riddle as simple as this. As she watched his hands twitch, not stilling for a moment, a new idea came to her. As politely as she could manage, she inclined her head to one side and delivered her suggestion.
“Milord, when was the last time you rested?” Her voice was quiet, hesitant even; stressed people could lash out at the smallest notice. “Other than your nightly allotment. I mean, when was the last time you laid down with the intention of taking your mind off your work?” She gestured vaguely toward his desk, with its pile of papers demanding Leo’s attention. “As a healer, it is my counsel that you set aside your duties and lay down for at least an hour.”

Things still seemed to be like they were years ago. She was staying in Nohr, acting as a live-in ambassador for a few months. A project was being constructed between the nations, and thus, someone needed to over-see it. Even if King Ryoma didn't wish for her to be the one to go, she still offered and proved her worth.
Looking up towards the dark sky, clouds blocking the sun, hues closed for a moment. There was barely any wind, and it was more than a wonderful moment. The cold didn't bother her, even if her new attire barely protected her from the cold elements. Hoshidan clothes were mainly suited for warmer climates. Leaning over the small rock wall, she stared out into the city before the castle. Lost in thoughts for a moment, she wasn't aware that someone was calling for her. Even onw, she could still get stuck in that mind of hers.
"I wonder if I could take a moment to see the city with Leo..." Muttering her desire, she still couldn't hear the loud shuffle of armor approaching.

"I hope you don't find it too boring..." the king says, presenting before the crown prince his simple gift of a little book. He opens the pages, slightly cracking the spine to reveal piece by piece fashion illustrations and patterns for his son to copy. If Leo had any say, he thought he did quite a good job at finding a gift. "Happy Birthday, Forrest."
Forrest is in immediate awe at the books and as soon as his Father hands it to him and after he’s said his several hundred excited thank yous... and is leafing through it slowly. “This is amazing Father! And not the least boring!”
