As soon as Ryan saw Ellis approach, his face lit up. He stood and made his way over, stopping just short of hugging him. “You came,” he said with a small smile. “I . . . wasn’t sure if you would. I mean, with Mia here and everything . . . I’m glad you did, though.”

It felt like it’d been ages since Ryan had seen Ezra. He’d spent so much of his time recently at work or at home with Olivia and Mia, he hadn’t gotten around to going out to Ezra’s place and he felt bad about it.

He wrapped his arm around Ezra’s shoulders, giving him a small squeeze before letting him go. “I’m glad you’re here. We should do something. Just the two of us.” He hesitantly signed ‘just the two of us.’ “Did I do it right? I’ve been tryin’ta learn. There’s like videos and shit online.”
