“Ugh, he’s so stupid. Stupid hair. Stupid arms. Stupid…chest. What? No! He’s just my friend. My best friend. I’ve known him since I was a little, little kid. He loves me a lot. Like a lot, a lot. It almost got him arrested once. But we don’t talk about that. He’s just, he’s the best thing in the world, you know? Like…everything is shit. The world sucks. I read newspapers and blogs, so many blogs everyday about how much everything sucks. But he smiles, or he tells a joke, or he decides to teach me to juggle and it’s honestly all so…stupid. But it’s kinda nice. I like it. It’s why we’re friends I guess. Best friends.”

Jake pulled back from Ryder’s attempt at a kiss to look around the emptying hallway, before looking back at his boyfriend with lifted brows. “Really? In front of God and everybody?” Truthfully, no one was paying much attention to them, all too busy emptying their lockers and trying to get out of the building as fast as possible. But even though Jake and Ryder were technically out, kissing in the hall wasn’t something they did. There’d never any big coming out moment or announcement, no acknowledgement by others of what they were to each other. Coming out had been a gradual process, born more out of laziness than a need for everyone else’s acceptance. Slowly, they just stopped hiding. They stopped using codewords to talk about the private things between them. They stopped dropping their intimate conversations when friends and acquaintances came up to join them in the hall. They stopped resisting the urge to pull the other close or to take the other’s hand. As always, they were simply Jake and Ryder and they let everyone else make assumptions about what that meant. 

Despite all of that though, for some reason, kissing in the open hall, for all of their classmates to see wasn’t something that they did. But today was their last day at McKinley High, likely the last time they’d ever stand together in this specific hallway and even though Jake would never call himself sentimental, he was feeling rather…sentimental. With the soft sigh of a martyr, Jake tugged on the fabric of Ryder’s shirt to gently pull him closer so he could finish the kiss that Ryder had started. Hearing a few catcalls and one loud “I knew it” from some fellow seniors who were still cleaning out their lockers, Jake pulled back with a chuckle and roll of his eyes. “Come on,” he reached for Ryder’s hand, entwining their fingers as they made their way out of school. “We have three months of freedom and I don’t want to waste any time.”

send ♥ for my top three favourite muses that i’ve played

My first Sam because I feel like I got to delve into a lot of why Sam is the way he is. I did a lot with the stripping storyline and his parents. And since the RP was really bubbly, I’d do these long self-paras of just getting into his headspace.

My Fabrevans 1x1 Sam because I feel like it was some of my best writing as an RPer and it was fun building up all of this backstory of what made that Sam a little crazy.

And ZM Jake because he has a cause. Most of my characters are just dealing with everyday mundane stuff and he does too, but he’s also plugged in politically which is fun. I like that he has no chill about certain topicss. Playing Jake for so long has also given me a chance to build up a lot of headcanons about his childhood and family. Jake’s mom is probably just as favorite of a character as Jake at this point. I’m also excited to play out the coming out storyline. I usually don’t play coming out storylines because they kind of bore me, but I think it’ll fit in nicely with some of the existing issues Jake has with his father
