Rye Pines Stream "Pessimist" From 'Dead Ocean'
If you dig gritty, boisterous rock and roll, you might enjoy Atlantic Ascent, a new song from Boston band Rye Pines. Its spirited rhythm, growling guitars, and raw, strained vocals bring Modest Mouse to mind, but mixed withthe hooks and charm of some of Grouplove and WATERS' more alt flavored tunes. My only complaint is that Atlantic Ascent ends too quickly, and I'm left hitting the play button over and over and over. Atlantic Ascent is Rye Pines' first taste off their coming Dead Ocean EP, out February 17th on Bob Records.
