Day One: Don’t Wanna Get Out Of Bed (Part 2)

 Keira pulled Rylee onto her back, and lay down on her wife. She was determined to find out what Rylee was trying to avoid. She must be avoiding something; she never usually needed conving to leave the bed.

 Keira: So are you going to tell me what you’re avoiding; or am I going to have to tickle it out of you?

Rylee looked up at Keira; she was looking for some sign that she wasn’t seriously considering tickling her into spilling her thoughts. No luck. She was serious; and Rylee didn’t have it in her to find some excuse. So, she opted for the truth.

 Rylee: If I get out of bed..there’s a flat falling apart waiting for me. There’s a job that keeps us away into the late hours. We-we’re missing our girls’ childhood! Hell. We missed most of their toodler years. We keep saving, and saving, and saving; but still we’re nowhere near where we need to be to move out. There’s so much responsibility..and too little time.

 Keira felt her heart ache at the wrds coming out of Rylee’s lips. Her words flooded her brain “..too little time”. Those words she preacticially whispered them. But they felt the loudest; they rang in her ears. How long had she felt like this? How long had she put on a brave face for her family? But what hurt Keira most..is not that Rylee had said nothing. It is that She never noticed her wife falling apart.

 Keira: Five more minutes?
