Hypothetically, because we both know this would never happen either...if Rythlin told Shyril she was going solo and cutting ties how would she react?
Shyril blinked, slowly once and then again as her friend’s words resonated in her mind. Ry was leaving…without her? Long lashes fluttered in disbelief, the expression on her face completely open for a moment as shock followed by an intense sadness transformed her expression before thin lips settled once more into a thin and indecipherable line.
"Solo, huh?" She did her best to sound unbothered, purposefully inserting a flippant tone into her voice though it threatened to crack under the weight of her true emotion. Her chest felt like steel bands were tightening across it, every breath a challenge as the little rogue strode across the shared room to scoop up a near-empty vessel of rum in a dainty grasp. The burning liquid helped dislodge the uncomfortable lump in her throat as she turned back.
“‘Can’ say I’m surprised. No offense, lovely, bu’ you’ve never been much of a ‘people person’.” A single eye flickered in a wink, the chameleon of a woman sliding back into the roll of devil-may-care rogue as if someone had flipped a switch. It was a guise she wore well, just like the smirk that slowly curved her lips as she tilted the bottle in Rythlin’s direction on her way to the door. “Do wha’ you need to do. ‘N if you ever decide to loosen that stick, you know where to find me.”
With that final toast did Shy swing open the heavy wooden door, letting the sounds from the common room below sweep in briefly as she raised the bottle to her lips once more. She wiped the remaining dribbles away with the back of her hand before sparing one more glance over her shoulder, lips curved just slightly at their corners. “See you around, Ry.”
And as that door closed, the smile swept from the rogue’s visage as her head dipped in quiet contemplation. Two fingers rubbed against her temple as she leaned a shoulder against the wall, completely lose. They’d been together for so long that without Rythlin, she wasn’t even sure who she was anymore.
She’d have to get her back. Somehow.

OOC: She’d be devastated, but would do her best not to show it because in their line of work it isn’t surprising. She would, of course, subtly attempt to change Rythlin’s mind but should she fail to do so she’d eventually understand and move forward on her own with one hell of a contact in her back pocket.
