ryunosuke doesn't have a ton of dating experience before he met you. if anything, he probably just had a crush here and there and you're his first actual relationship!
he's pretty nervous at the start of the relationship, but usually he tries to bluff his way through things! he doesn't act overly confident, but even if he's scared of taking the first steps, he'll still take them!
ryunosuke never wants to make you feel uncomfortable, so he always takes small steps. consent is important to him, so he slowly does more and more, always asking for your permission first
he's a pretty private person and prefers to keep most things about his relationship with you to himself! the only two people he talks to about you are kazuma and susato – and occasionally herlock, if herlock nags him about spilling some infos!
ryunosuke's friends like you a lot and they slowly become your friends as well. susato is the most eager to befriend you, always being sweet towards you, while kazuma is the one that tells you embarrassing stories about ryunosuke or spills some secrets about your boyfriend!

ryunosuke thought you were cute for a while now, but was always able to push down those thoughts and keep a professional distance from you. but now it's different!
as you lay down in bed next to him, he flinches, moving away a little. you start to worry quickly, asking if everything is alright
ryunosuke panics a little, worried that he might've made you think he dislikes you. so he starts to explain himself, making excuses and stuttering out words he soon after starts to regret
“i-i don't have a problem with you being close to me! i-i kind of like it, that's the problem! wait, not like… not in a strange way! more like… arg, i forget i said that–!”
you chuckle at his rambling, simply listening, before you scoot a little closer to him. ryunosuke quickly shuts up and blushes, feeling you cuddle up against him. but he happily accepts it, despite how nervous he is

I dont know if Haruhi ever got to mention his backstory. I didnt get all of his cards, so I dont know. But Haruhi was very poor growing up and only now gets to live a better life and gets away with getting things from others.
But in Ryunosukes story, when Haruhi asked for things from him, when Ryunosuke said he would buy them for him, Haruhi became hesitant and tried backing out, as if being surprised and apologetic for asking for things. I really wish they got to expand more on that aspect of his personality.
As for Ryunosuke, his dead wife and military companions are very heavily mentioned in his stories. He has a picture of his wife by his bed, which he keeps turned on and gets very depressed about (its was holographic if I remember, because he turned off the picture a few times)
He has deep trauma about so many people dying around him and has problems with expecting people to be there the next day.
He had problems getting close to Walter, but has mentioned he finds comfort in the fact he is a machine, because he can live longer, so he can stay by his side.
