drunken confessional

The air was hot and sticky, or that was how it felt as Heosoo as he fumbles one foot over the other in search of the right door. A clumsy step ended with his shoulder colliding with the wall and a laugh trickling him his lips as he sloppily clutches to at the flat surface to keep himself up right. He was horribly intoxicated, the kind where he didn’t know if he was laughing because it was funny or because he found himself so pitiful that there was nothing else he could do. One sleeve of his suit jacket slipping from his shoulder, signs of the extravagant affair that led to the typical after party. Jaewon had been under his gaze until he wasn’t, the first born prince was skilled at that and Heosoo had shared too many in cheer to go looking for him.
His back met the wall roughly, knocking the air from his lungs and leaving him slipping down to the floor. If Jaewon died and he got fired-- Just the though made a laugh puff in his cheeks, tinged with the reddened heat. A sarcastic sort of amusement; bitter at the edges. There were too ways that Heosoo could go when he was drunk, one was to bed with the closest person who would let him take them there and the second was here, fingers scratching at an inner seam wondering how he ended up in this place. The drunken epiphany that left a sensation of drowning as he coughed over a breath and struggled to find his footing again.
It was a hazy wander until he collided with something else moving, his head swinging to lift up and the dizziness leaving him clutching onto the fabric of the object in his way. A person. A familiar one. Jinyoung. A fellow lord-in-waiting, a co-worker, a friend -- the crooked and uneven attempt of a smile on Heosoo’s lips. There was a red burn in his eyes, with two conclusions of a getting high or that he’d been crying. One hand rubbing his nose as he stifles a sniffle and looks back in the direction he came in. “JinJin, this place has so many corners. When did it get so many corners?” Heosoo rattled out, slurring the edges of his words; fingers curling into Jinyoungs shirt and tugging as he loses balance once more.
