As someone who lived in the Nashville area for about seven years of my life, I can attest and say that Taylor, you are correct. When I lived in Tennessee, church was always a difficult place for me to feel accepted. I felt that once I walked through those doors every Sunday morning, I had to portray that I was someone I wasn’t. On top of that, I had church leaders bully me because of personal choices I made. Since moving to Texas in 2015, I have had such a different experience in terms of being accepted at church. People who I thought didn’t really care about me actually cared about me and made me feel accepted and that I belonged at church.

I believe that Christian values should be accepting people for who they are, not filtering through and deciding who should and shouldn’t be accepted. Everyone matters!

I still don’t know why people complain about ME! being the Lover lead single when it was the perfect song to set the whole era up. From the upbeat tempo & fun lyrics to the bright production, I also feel that ME! does an amazing job at tying the album’s production together! 💘
