The Art of Marathon by Tobias Kwan #5
woops too much marathon
marathon spoilers if youre specifically avoiding codex entries for the compiler trace and spoilers for infinity as well
Compiler trace just being a retelling of the s'pht backstory from marathon 2 is a really smart way to implement that information into the new game HOWEVER
a big detail that stands out to me, in the third entry: "orbits we spun dreams into tangible reality; dreams that vibrated as the tide ordained; for pthia; for lh'owon; beyond self; we give thanks; to the tide; for the phtia; we serve the ebb and the floworbits we spun dreams into tangible reality; dreams that vibrated as the tide ordained; for pthia; for lh'owon; beyond self; we give thanks; to the tide; for the phtia; we serve the ebb and the flow" specific references too pthia, no mention of yrro, and mentions of waves and dreams, and the most interesting to me specfically is the wording "the" pthia in my infinity replay i formed a theory about pthia and yrro the themes of duality within infinity and with thoth made me wonder, is pthia meant to be the s'pht's term for the w'rkncacnter? the strongest point being the terminals in aye mac sicur, the last level of marathon infinity
the first is a message from thoth-durandal, has the word "doubt" associated with the w'rkcacnter, and then in another terminal in AMS, one that seems to be from yrro himself:
seemingly pretty strongly drawing the pthia/yrro and w'rkcacnter/jjaro parallels, as well as using the term "doubt" in relation to her while i dont think pthias true identity is a question that needs answered, i think its interesting bungie seems to be following this plot thread, and along with the way the compiler trace codex entries end, it raises alot of questions about the fate of s'pht in what id assume you might as well call "this timeline", given that its highly likely another alternate timeline s'pht without the jjaro? a yrro that fell instead of pthia? who knows
I made that
one has to wonder if it was curiosity that killed Tycho on that fateful day the Marathon was attacked. When the S'Pht virus first entered the ship, did it fascinate him? Did he seek to reach out and analyze this strange form of digital life? Was that curious touch what doomed him? Destroyed him and remade him into the confused amalgamation of intelligences and alien technology that he is today?
A couple of the Rozinante’s medics; they were rescued and brought on board sometime between the Lh’owon campaign and the first major story in Inmortalitas.
I figure that S’pht medics would dress in different robes to distinguish themselves from other S’pht; black might be considered a unifying colour (absorption of light) in their culture, so medics--who’re supposed to administer aid to anyone, regardless of clan--wear more of it that usual.
