It's a really really demotivating thing to hear that your art is 'shitty' but looking at what I have gotten done this year? I'm really really proud. Believe it or not MY art has looked worse and I have been through a lot of different styles. But *I* like my art. *I* like the things I make. And it's okay if someone else doesn't that doesn't mean it's bad..

In other news, I wanna try my hand at drawing more after this discouraging week. Hopefully I can attempt to draw Vox after this attempt a few months ago:
I'm someone who's really excited about my own writing, and it really shows in the character, and traits, I bring to Vincent. While writing, I can't explain it but carefully putting together a man who is both obsessed being the best, and being idolized, is really fun because of the foundation his ego is built on:
Insecurity.
There's something almost freeing about letting him be really soft and happy one moment and sending him down a spiral the next, knowing it isn't majorly OOC. The spiraling could easily be due to many things but my favorites are someone pissed him off, or got in his way. Which is something we frequently see in Vox.
The man is so emotional and because of that he is easy to read and manipulate.
That is why I truly love his character design as Vox. The man isn't even given a decent head/face, instead, you can both see and feel the way he is feeling.
His eyes are huge and so is his mouth, making it hard to miss the different expressions he makes, his antenna buzz with static when he's angry, excited, or flustered. Even his own body is able to tell on him; with his claws digging into certain things much more obviously by their sheer length alone.
All of this being taken into account aided me in my writing of Vincent and while I wish I got to see more of him, the man I am able to whip up with context clues isn't bad at all.
