[this is some prety revolutionary humor here, as you can tell, im using emoticons, or emojis for you I Phone users out there (fucking hispters lmao) to convey emotions in the format of a story. this is a popular form of communacation. Most people love when they see small faces made out of punctuation on a computer keyboard acting out a comical story such as this. In this story, a popular tumblr (a web blogging site, run by david karp, known affectioantely as "daddy" among some bloggers) blogger saamwise commented on one of my posts. The post that I posted discussed the trivialities of halloween compared to the more important subject of my essay, due tomorrow morning at 8, while still incorporating an air of youthful exuberance for halloween through the use of multiple explanation points. Mary "saamwise.tumblr.com" commented on my post, making a joke (a humorous anecdote or phrase used to incite laughter) about the fact that only tumblr kids could understand my aforementioned post. Now here is where my analysis gets dicey (hard to understand, confusing, choppy). Saamwise's joke could either be referring to the popular joke format of "only 90's kids will understand this" (this reference is directily tied in with teen facebook culture and once relevant pages posting pictures of VHS tapes and rugrats with captions like "only 90s kids will get it" and "like if you remember". This youth oriented culture is quickly appropriated by adults and lost its flame on facebook, becoming joke material easily, as kids posted pictures of george washington america's first president with the caption "only 1700s kids remember" and the like. and so the fetishization of the 90's became more prevalent on tumblr) or she could be making a real reference to tumblr culture (referenced in popular posts, which often use words like "unf", "swag", "tumblr university", "tumblr island", making posts about cuddling and then also hacving crazy sex at the same time, and the fandom vs hipster war that is always seemingly going on, though both groups seem to have little to no direct contact with each other), stating that my childish exuberance mimicked the innate childishness and pettiness of tumblr when compared to some deeper, darker, unfathomable reality.
