...when a non-denominational radio station actually mentions the Sabbath...to then essentially shame people for “not working hard enough” because “they look forward to their vacations/days off.”
How dare you twist the Sabbath into *that* and whatever capitalist agenda you subscribe to.
(Especially have that message play over a sacred holiday weekend for jews and christians alike, sabbath-keeping or not.)
It is SO HARD to get people to respect Sabbath keepers (jewish or not—I’m SDA, but there’s others who keep the sabbath besides those two groups) when crap like *that* is played. Let alone feeling like I’m keeping the Sabbath in spirit when trying to make sure I have it is so freaking stressful!
OH. And if someone’s “wanting to get to their next time off” truly? That’s a symptom that there’s something seriously WRONG with their work environment. Like getting overworked and not recovering on their “weekends”/time off/vacations, and/or a toxic work environment socially, and/or the type of work itself is misery (like being unsuited to it, too easy, too difficult, too hectic, too slow, too busy, not bust enough, etc.)
We all have our own specific strengths and needs. So don’t you DARE shame those people, either!
