A pretentious indie Japanese director's script about eating edamame

Fade in with a live action shot of the tide with loud sound effects. Pan left to a view of the ocean, handheld so we know it's POV, dissolve to animated. 

Voiceover: "When I was younger"

Pan to a handful of edamame.

"I used to eat edamame..."

We hear a mother calling, pan left again to see her, then back to the edamame.

"...And I always liked to dip it..."

Fade out

Fade in on a slowly zooming out shot of the kid. As he dips the thing, you intercut with a close-up of the ripples. You follow the ripples until they hit the beach. A crab scuttles by.

"...Into the water..."

The crab meets another crab, they do a mating dance which symbolizes the loss of innocence.

"...because it was salty..."

Cut back to the boy, who is now an old man. The sun is setting. He dips the edamame again.

"I am old now."

"And I can only taste edamame..."

Dip again. Follow ripple, but all that's there is a crumpled tin can.

"...when I dip it..."

POV shot of the dip, and as it hits the water that coincides with the last rays of the setting sun

"...into the water..."

The director is an old man.

He grunts a bit.

Fade to black.

Roll credits.

I was talking about how I used to eat edamame in the ocean when I was young and how disgusting I realized that was, and this happened.
