Talk about the thing you are most proud of.

I think, most of all, myself. The teenage years were awful and especially the last couple years I lived with my mom, I lost myself. I blame her for it because of all the horrible things she did and said to me, but I also blame myself for letting her. I was a mess of a person when I finally pulled myself out of that situation and it took me a while to get to a good place again. I think I’m just proud of bouncing back and being in a relatively good place after everything that’s happened to me. I don’t mean to sound so narcissistic and oh, “woe is me,” because nobody has had a perfect life but I think I’m just proud of the way I’ve handled it and learned from it.

Talk about something someone told you that meant a lot.

God, everything Jill has said to me, pretty much. Whether it’s telling me she’ll always support me as long as I’m doing what I want, or her telling me that I’m an inspiration to her (she has been probably the most influential person in my life - I would not be where I am today at all without her). That means the world to me. 

Talk about your guilty pleasures.

Uhh… pop music/teen movies. When I feel like shutting my brain off, I go for the simple stuff that doesn’t require a lot of thought. Also, old sitcoms. I am currently on season 8 of Cheers and I watch an episode or two before bedtime and it’s become my little happy place and my me time and it’s become something I look forward to.

That's actually funny, because you were the one who inspired me to finally try app dating!

They're not all great, but I think it's always fun to get dressed up and meet someone new.  As long as the person isn't a serial killer and you meet in a public place, very little to lose!

13: What is your favourite part of yourself?

My creativity! My creative impulse is really lacking in direction right now, which has been a huge source of frustration in the past, but this pull to wrangle something within myself into something physical keeps me alive, really. It gives me hope every day, and if I didn't have the desire to somehow create a piece of my own reality in the world, I'm not sure that I would even be here right now. My favorite thing about myself physically is my hair :)

91: Any superstitions that you follow? 

Yes! A lot of them are personal little things that aren't, like, actual superstitions to anyone but me or my family. I always knock wood, throw spilled salt over my shoulder, etc. 

115: If you could only ever listen to 10 songs again, what would you pick? Why them?

OH GOD. Rhapsody In Blue for obvious reasons, Ella Fitzgerald's version of These Foolish Things, either You Shook Me or Going to California by Zeppelin, Erik Satie's Gnossienne no. 1, Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac, Breathe Me by Sia, Holocene by Bon Iver, I'm A Fool To Want You by Billie Holiday, You Made Me Love You by Harry James, Red House by Jimi Hendrix and probably some showtunes but idk which ones, probably something from Chicago or Follies or Gypsy?? God this list is an absolute mess I was not prepared for this haha.

I am essentially the same, girl. I freak out and announce ‘IT’S OVER’ if I don’t hear from a guy I’m seeing in over a week (I’m also just now realizing how crazy of a girl I can be). We just have to stick together and have weekly girl talks over wine
