I know it’s been a while again since I have written. I spent the summer, fall and winter with my family after I graduated. I’m so glad I did because some of them are gone now.

Sabrina passed away in her sleep in my room on September 30th of last year. She was my companion and friend until the end. I was her person and she was one of my best friends.

Mom passed away October 1st. Dad November 1st. Even though by most accounts, Dad should have lived longer. I know it was because he lost his soul mate. He wasn’t the same after Mom was gone. He didn’t want to live without her. I can’t blame him for that, even though it’s been hard loosing them both and so close together. I miss them and Sabrina too. I’m sad that they will not get to be there for Apollo and Naya when they get married. Or when they have kids. Or if I even have kids. My only comfort is the thought they finally got to meet their first grandchild, my baby, in Heaven.

My poor Sabrina slowly came to greet me on the steps earlier. I picked her up and carried her around most of the day. I noticed Mom and Dad are moving more slowly too. At least I reached my goal. To finish college before they all pass. Still makes me sad though to think about them not being around someday.

“Thank you for baking the cake Vera. I could have done it but standing too long at the counter gets to my back.” Mom told me with a smile.

I just hoped the cake tasted good. I’m not that great at baking or cooking. I must take after Dad.

The reason for the cake….Apollo’s (early) Birthday!

Yes, I got to watch Apollo blow out his birthday candles. I can remember when he was born and how much I was disgusted by his presence in my life when our parents introduced me to him. But now, I love him to pieces.

Apollo. He had an interesting way of celebrating his birthday.

Looks like I’m going to have a sister-in-law. I like Naya though, she’s pretty cool. I would like to know how he got that little heart thing to appear about the ring though.

The main thing is- he’s happy.
