Sachmet - one of the main characters from my comic, Phantom Gods. Pose ref used, obviously. Link to the comic here ~Do not use and do not repost!
Another fancast for an hypothetical Egyptian Mythology movie
So I really wish there would be a good movie about the egyptian gods, and I think I already made a list of who would be my dream cast for that hypothetical movie, but I updated it, so:
Isis - Patina Miller
Her portrait of Commander Paylor impressed me enough that I could imagine her as the badass, morally grey but deeply loving main character
Osiris - Kostja Ullmann
He has this charismatic, handsome vibes but I could also imagine that he plays being to nice for his own good well. Plus, the first GIFs I found show that he can play whump, to use the modern term
Horus - Rami Malek
I first thought of Elyas M’Barek for that because I imagine him quite muscular, but then, shouldn’t an actual egyptian actor play the most heroic of the gods? Plus, he looks more like a child of the actors I chose for Isis and Osiris would look like than M’Barek (as much as this counts since genetics surely work different for shape shifting entities)
Seth - Either Adam Driver or Parker Croft
Why an white actor? Well, Seth is described as an pale redhead, and I think it would be nice when for a change everybody is non-white except the villain. Driver can play superb villains, but Croft is closer to how I imagine Seths body type - it just seemed fitting for me that a god of desert and barren land would be thin but wiry.
Nephthys - Vicky Jeudy
I can’t really put a word to it, her vibes just seemed fitting
Anubis - Riz Ahmed
I loved him in Rouge One. Contradictory to most pop culture depictions from the myths Anubis seems like a nice enough person, and Ahmed has these kind vibes too. Plus, he does look a bit like a jackal (hope this is not an insult, I just tend to see peoples faces as the animals they look similar too)
Thoth - Chiwetel Ejiofor
I just can imagine him being wise and full of knowledge and a bit nerdy?
Maat - Cheryl Green
Originally I had Mira Furlan as her, but she is white. Now, I am not actually sure about Greens ethnicity, and I also found no information if she is not just an activist and director but also an actor or just activist and director, but she has very similar wise and ethereal vibes to Furlan.
Re - Morgan Freeman
This just seemed like such a no-brainer?
Sobek - Omar Metwally
Also a choice that just came to me without any explanation. Also sorry for using that picture from Twilight, it was simply the best fitting
Khnum - Idris Elba
I think the vibes are fitting?
Hathor - Lupita Nyong’o
Hathor was really hard to “cast” and at first I thought Nyong’o would be a good choice for Bastet, but then I realized that it fits this way too
Sachmet - Danai Gurira
Somehow I can totally imagine her playing an out of control, brutal, lawful evil character. And yeah, I like Black Panther
Bastet - Sonequa Martin-Green
I loved her as Michael in Star Trek Discovery. Bastet would be a totally different role but she is such a good actress she totally could do it
Queen Mother Imakhu shares the Khametic principle and true story of Sekhmet. http://www.sharaymshenutemple.info http://www.queenmotherimakhu.info http://www....
The best explanation of the Goddess Sekhmet I’ve ever seen, whether or not it is 100% accurate, I do find it refreshing. All Kemetics and people interested in Ancient Egypt (Kemet) SHOULD watch this, because it addresses something I’ve thought for a long time, that Sekhmet’s myth was a vessel for the patriarchy and not a reflection of the TRUE nature of Sekhmet.
Dua Sekhmet!
Ancient Egyptians knew better and worshipped cat ladies instead of using it as an insult
Here is the charcter of Sachmet in battle armour. I cant remember who is the person behind it.
Had a lot of fun with these, they are about one and a half year apart. I still like Strength the most, out of the first set I made. You can see the complete major arcana on my Instagram
