SAC KENDAMA 2nd YEAR ANNIVERSARY KENDAMA BATTLES . MAY 18 2013
Chris Do | Kendama Tutorial | Downspike Whirlwind
Geez. So busy nowadays that it took forever to even get this simple tutorial done. lol, anywhoo, have fun watching and give it a shot yourself if you play 'dama.
Alex Ramos | Folken Kendama | Pro Team Entry
Seriously one of the most underrated players in the 'dama world. If only you knew his history with 'dama as well as I do. After playing for 2 &1/2 years, he finally decides to enter for a sponsorship. It's about time him & I collaborated too. Been overdue for the longest time. Ahah, so check it. If you don't know Mr. Ramos, he's basically one of those super talented ones that become consistent at whatever they learn. He lost his first battle at The Mateo Challenge (here in Sacramento), and after that, he just never lost a battle (and that's in the Advanced ladder)! He went back to taking on school and dance choreography more seriously and so he's been missing out on the new tricks that the newcomers are quickly learning and mastering. However, despite his absence in playing as much as he used to, he still has wayy more consistency with the fundamental tricks, which are the ones that matter when you're trying to improve your skill or become Japanese-like. Creativity is what he aims for now as he's back in the game and getting active again. I didn't have to wait long while filming with this guy as he laced combos left and right in usually under half an hour. He's still got it. I really hope he goes pro because his potential is really one to look out for.
Oh, and he's genuinely a cool friend to kickit with, too. ^_^
Don't ever forget about having fun if you're getting serious about kendama[;
SacKendama | 2 Year Anniversary | Coverage
Didn't make it to either one of SacKendama's 2 Year Anniversary events? Well, you didn't miss out on much.. just kidding. Both events made history.
Super special thanks goes out to The Kengarden & Global Kendamas Network (GLOKEN)! They truly make kendama players' dreams come true.
&Can't forget about the locals! KEN LAB, Royal Rummel, and Progress Kendamas comin' at 'cha always from the SacKendama events.
Chris Do | Kendama Edit 2 | justaldrinTV
Finally got to work again with this guy after a whole year. &Man has he progressed! Proud of him for not just using his talent with kendama to improve himself, but also for pushing the game further so that everyone in the advanced-pro level can become even more creative.
The Editquette Project: A Kendama Documentary
Sean Saephanh. This guy had a vision and went for it. Sean is a local SacKendama player who has developed a strong sense of belonging to kendama. He's very caring for the local 'dama community and for his senior project in high school, he came up with this. Although it's not the most professional approach to a topic of high caliber, I guess it's the thought that counts. This was a well-documented film about the several local faces in scene and a brief introduction to kendama's efforts for people who just don't quite understand what it's about.
As someone who was planning on doing a film similar to this one, I'd have to say that despite not enough time being put into this project, it was well executed for the time available. I wish more thought would've gone into the project because when I spoke to Sean about it, it seemed like it was headed in a proper direction. Overall, more research into the community could've definitely benefited the project, but what he's presented is pretty "moving" enough. I enjoyed seeing this other side to the local 'dama community, which I'm not usually aware about. =]
-P.S. Craft helps too.
