I think saying that people are mocking indigenous cultures because they use the word "spirit animal" commonly in a sentence is a bit of a stretch. And saying "soul sister" should also be alright. It's called cultural intregration and linguistic development, for good or bad. The concept of "spirit animal" is a part of our culture too now, thought I admit that it's simplified. Isn't it okay as long as it's used respectfully? Either way, good luck banning a word from people's vocabulary.
