“Slide around on the ground, landing on my butt sometimes, huh? So, ya mean what I do professionally, right? Geez, dude. Y’know I don’t complain about gettin’ all dirty and bumped and bruised. It builds character, gettin’ all those injuries. As long as it ain’t your face, I’m pretty sure you can handle it. Besides, it couldn’tve been that bad. Ya only slipped a couple feet! I’m sure any bruises would disappear in a couple days. But... If ya really wanna... I could just carry your butt to the nurse’s office.”

“No, I insist.” Authoritative tone to exemplify her will to serve him something with konjac. A meal from the Ultimate Maid is not something anyone hesitated unless she was using konjac. Somehow, something went completely wrong whenever she attempted to implement that ingredient in her recipes. Whether it was burned, oversalted or oddly spongy, none felt edible compared to her other meals.

“It’s the only thing I cannot cook. I must perfect it, please.”

Something about him was unsettling. Maybe it was just the shock of seeing a face she didn’t recognize for the first time since... Well, since forever. It was a little exciting, but disturbing. How could he have gotten here without her noticing? Excitement gave way to suspicion. Was there someone else editing her script? 

That’s when she caught herself staring at him, too deep in thought to actually acknowledge his presence. 

“Uh.. Hi! Welcome to the literature club. Are you lost?”
