This seems obvious, but just in case it’s not clear, the term Sailor Zombie refers to the sailor uniform that’s standard in many Japanese schools. So Sailor Zombie = Zombie in a School Uniform.

Also, I lowkey love this song partially because of its original nonsensicalness (“what if the school was haunted, with a zombie, and then I asked her out?”) but also how the narrator is almost inadvertently fleshed-out (as a teenager seemingly obsessed with the occult, he’s actually clearly struggling to fit in or receive any positive attention from the people in the real world so he gravitates towards socially-rejected “monsters” and latches onto the idea of developing a “zombie” persona that will let him be reborn as someone other than who he is right now) amid happy 1950s-esque pop.
