I'd only heard about Katrina. I'd never seen her before, but everyone always said she was pretty. And when I sat down in my new English class, I was mesmerised. She was prettier than Anne Hathaway, which certainly said something.
She was sat next to a boy that I knew called Oscar and they kept making each other laugh. Damn, she was pretty when she laughed. I had to admit- I was pretty jealous of him.
Later in the lesson, when we'd been given a writing task, I scribbled down my answer quickly so that I could look at her again, even if it was only for ten seconds.
She looked frustrated, tapping her pan on her paper, as if she couldn't think. Oscar noticed at the same time as me and whispered something to her. She laughed quietly, which then evolved into a small coughing fit. Our teacher didn't care, he had other work to do.
Over the next few weeks, I offered to help her with her English work and she agreed. Soon enough, we became quiet close.
I would go to her house everyday and we'd laugh at each other, making jokes and pulling faces. The closer we got, the more she became my best friend.
Katrina was never the type to flirt with boys. Or anyone really. But we became close enough that we'd flirt with each other, as a joke. I wished she knew I wasn't joking.
One Saturday in October, she called me. It was midnight and she cried down the phone to me about how she didn't like boys and was scared to tell me because I was the reason she knew.
She sat and talked non-stop for 10 whole minutes.
''When I say that you could kiss me, I mean it. I can't hide the fact that I'm telling the truth when I flirt with you.''
I sighed, relieved. ''Hey, calm down. I like you too Kat. I really do.''
We talked for hours and hours about why we liked each other and what we wanted to do together. I'd never been happier. But she couldn't tell her parents because they were religious and completely against the idea of anything gay. Pathetic, right?
Over the months, she came out to her friends and I was unbelievably proud of her. So damn proud.
I didn't think I could love her anymore.
I'd sit up, late at night, thinking about her. I mean, I'd been with girls before, but they were never like this.
i hate them
Ahajakskoa the way chip said "do you want me??" Like he just couldn't believe the possibility of it omg
Every detail of childhood trauma taken directly from his mind is a lot of information for the first date actually
