There was no time to mull over his decision as Saint barked his order, either he would let May go or he would hand her back to the Seraphim of War and by proxy prove his loyalty to Famine. His stomach twisted as it dawned on him instantly that there was only one choice to be made, catch May, and that was exactly what he did without hesitation. There was no going back now as he seized May, whatever friendship he shared with the other ending at that moment. He could feel his heart drumming against her chest, putting his weight down on the other to keep her in place, his eyes remaining on Saint rather than May. Just because their friendship ended did not mean he stopped caring, despite everything, Omer did care for May, Omer did care for Gwen, but none of that mattered. Omer refused to think that he would be responsible for Gwen’s pain just the way Alicia had been for his. It was ironic that they were all in a cycle of revenge. They would all have blood on their hands after tonight. This was not Omer’s revenge. Tonight was not his night. Tonight he was just a soldier following his orders.
After the bullet fired into May, Omer lets go of the body, jumping up onto his feet, his eyes darting between Saint and May. Once again there is no time to think about what happened, there is no time to feel what he just witnessed, all he can feel is the adrenaline pumping through his body and the voice in his head screaming at him to run. “Saint come on, we need to get out of here!” he shouts loud enough for the other to hear within all the screams, the smoke on the boat getting bigger by each passing second. There was no time to linger behind the two of them had to get off the boat as soon as possible if they wanted to survive themselves. “This way.” he leads, running down a route he knows is free of explosives.
“How did that feel? How do you feel?”
