Confession #814
When she broke... She fucking SHATTERED. That's not our girl anymore, at least not right now... The Ruby we all know and love, no matter how down she gets, would never be this terribly hostile.
I love it. I love this show of what festering depression can do to even the most optimistic and hopeful and kind souls. It can turn people into raging monsters if left unchecked. And boy was it ever left unchecked.
imo Ruby has always had a bit of an anger streak, she's just good at stamping it down. This is very on brand for Ruby's type of anger, and almost exactly what I predicted would happen like, god years ago at this point.
Ruby's anger is a hot flash of frustration that fizzles out almost as quickly as it comes followed by self-isolation. The only thing that's different here is that her frustration is targeted. Whenever she's had an outburst before it's been at her situation, or she's taken it out on her environment. We've never seen her directly get angry at her teammates like that.
And that's maybe part of why this surprised WBY so much. Like, yeah, they've seen Ruby mad. But it's always been directed toward their shared conflicts. Ruby is angry because they don't know how to deal with Ironwood's ultimatum, Ruby is angry because the Apathy is affecting her teammates, Ruby is angry because Beacon is gone and her friends are dead. It's always been a shared anger to them, so they never really realized how personal Ruby had made all of those struggles.
Which makes her usual self-isolation that much more impactful. There's a possibility now that Ruby won't come back after cooling off, and they don't know how to handle Ruby not coming back.
Figured I'd get in on the pet showing action and show ya Caboose

Explain quantum theory to me like I'm 5
I tried this once but I'm embarrassed about the results, so I won't do it again.
I had a dream last night that you started some MAJOR discourse on here by saying "HRT is a soup" and the post got over 500k notes in a very short amount of time. Insults were thrown, villages were probably burned down, that's how big the discourse was 😂
"HRT is a soup" may be the funniest thing I've gotten in my inbox in a while.
Nuh uh uh! Paper isn't food!
it tastes good tho (。﹏。*)

Are we really surprised that Netflix would pull this shit? They made a cartoon show about middle school aged children going through puberty, discovering what sex is, and having graphic orgasms and shit (with their YouTube channel posting a compilation of such scenes). I'm honestly not the least bit surprised that they'd make something this fucked up... Still equally disgusted by both tho.
Gross as Big Mouth is, at least it’s just cartoons. This is taking the work of a french person where apparently the subject matter actually WAS tastefully done, and then using the worst marketing possible because i guess they want that Weinstein money or some shit.
Gotta love how they changed the description to reframe it as a “rebelling against conservative parents” story too, because anything that anyone even slightly conservative says is bad HAS to be good by default, right?
It’s such an obvious marketing ploy because they think liberals are dumb enough that if you “Own Teh Conservatards” that automatically means you make a good product, and the sad despair-inducing truth is that the past 4 years have proven they’re absolutely right to think that.
