I feel like people talk more about Saló being a "disgusting perverted movie" and how it's so so shocking and you should neeever watch it or think about it more than the actual message and intentions of it, neither talk about the technical and artistic elements of the film at all.

I'm so tired of the whole disturbing movies discussion and all of those sensationalistic iceberg videos who put illegal material next to really cheap gorexplotation movies popularizing this trend of misinterpreting films in the extreme cinema scene and shaming people who enjoy them, treating them like gross depraved animals without actually trying to understand the many reasons on why someone could even get to appreciate these types of films.

Finally watched Saló after years building the courage to do so, felt like Pasolini was absolutely pissed off when he made that film.
