sometimes there's discourse to the effect of: It’s fine to write problematic stuff because the author could be working through their own emotions and trauma. And it's like, Sure. But actually it's just fine to write whatever you want anyway. You don't have to care about that. You can make art about whatever you want. People don't have to like it. And that's fine. Justifying your right to make the art you want is the mind killer. Just make it.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'm one of those people who's like "caring about negative fic comments/bookmarks from people you don't know is the mind killer" but I also get irritated by people asking for archive warnings on CNTW fic
