001: before & after.
BEFORE.
Who were you?
Persephone was the goddess queen of the underworld, wife of the God, Hades. She was also the goddess of spring growth, who was worshipped alongside her mother Demeter in the Eleusinian Mysteries. This agricultural-based cult promised its initiates passage to a blessed afterlife. Persephone was titled Core, also known as the Maiden, to be the goddess of spring's bounty.
Once upon a time when she was playing in a flowery meadow with her Nymph companions, Core was seized by Hades and carried off to the underworld as his bride. Her mother Demeter despaired at her disappearance and searched for her throughout the world accompanied by the goddess Hecate bearing torches. When she learned that Zeus had conspired in her daughter's abduction she was furious, and refused to let the earth fruit until Persephone was returned. Zeus consented, but because the girl had tasted of the food of Hades--a handful of pomegranate seeds--she was forced to forever spend a part of the year with her husband in the underworld. Her annual return to the earth in spring was marked by the flowering of the meadows and the sudden growth of the new grain. Her return to the underworld in winter, conversely, saw the dying down of plants and the halting of growth.
Life on Mount Othrys
Persephone was usually depicted as a young goddess holding sheafs of grain and a flaming torch. Sometimes she was shown in the company of her mother Demeter, and the hero Triptolemos, the teacher of agriculture. At other times she appears enthroned beside Hades.
Morality
Persephone knows that she is adored by mean because she brings growth during spring. She has nothing but gratitude and will remain faithful in their eyes.
AFTER.
Who are you?
As the Goddess of Spring, Salem is a sweet and innocent young adult, learning how to live on her own on the Island of Eden. She hadn't experienced much of Eden itself due to her over-protective mother, Dae Seol - whom is Korean descent. Despite her innocent aura, there is a particularly darker side to Salem’s personality. She is capable of expressing rightful hatred towards someone who has done her wrong.
Fun fact: Her favourite flowers are rose, crocus, violet, iris, lily and larkspur.
Life on Island of Eden
After spending two years on the Island of Eden, Salem is very humbled. She is currently a stylist to a few and will sometimes write songs for other artists. She knows that eventually there will be a fight between the Titans and the Gods. She would never want to fight with her mother Demeter. She also has grown attached to her earth mother Dae Seol and refuses to let anything bad happen to her.
Morality
Since she used to be the Goddess of Spring, she thought that the humans had more respect to Mother Nature. She’s aware that Greek has the ultimate respect to the environment, however, there are other countries where the air is constantly polluted. Persephone is afraid that the peak of global warming will be something she will experience.
