#salen ramble

I have been wishing to write some Salen rambles, but admittedly it's felt like she would require alot more on the description side than the others I've written for. Buut, I still think I could make it work;

Salen: "I don't get it." Luz: "Well, ¡you just gotta wear the clothes you like! ¡That which shows the world who you really are under all that (concerningly scarred) skin!" Salen: "...Okay." Luz: "¿Have you never worn an outfit before? Beyond your coat and stuff." Salen: Slightly shamefully shakes head, "I've never considered the idea of choosing one's clothing before."

Salen: "I don't get it, though. It just, feels too good to be true, ¿you know?" The rifle is inanimate, and gives no response Salen: "I know. I know that's what I was hoping for anyways, it's just... these two (¿three?) don't have that same, reason to take care of me like this. It's just weird." Salen: Gazes down at Reno, holding her across her lap, idly rubbing her handguard. She nods along. Salen: "Yeah, true. I get that, it's just... ¿you know what people say about walruses and fairies? It's more surprising when something understood is unusual, than something fantastical." Luz: Pops head up, "¿Who ya talkin' to?" Salen: Exclaims in surprise, "¡Gageno!" Lowers Reno after having instinctively pointed her at Luz, "Sorry—sorry, you scared me." Luz: "Aw sorry, you are easy to startle." Salen: Nervous shrug, "Yeah."

Salen: "¿What is 'TikTok'?" Luz: Dramatically, "It's a turbo attention black hole of doom and misery..." Salen: Vague confusion Luz: "It's an app where people post short videos, and you scroll to watch them. They're just thrown at you, and scrolling can get pretty addicting." Salen: "¿Are the videos of any value?" Luz: "No they're usually a bunch of dubious claims to make you mad, genuine misinformation, things you don't care about, and stolen cat videos." Salen: "¿Is it pleasant to use?" Luz: "Oh not at all, it feels bad, especially when you doomscroll for hours and do absolutely nothing the whole time, except feel worse afterwards." Salen: "Then, ¿why does anyone use it?" Luz: Shrug

Eda: "Whatchya doing down here, kiddo, it is way too early." Salen: Realisation; slouches from the upright, formal pose, "Oh right— nothing. Force of habit." walks right back up the stairs, slight embarrasment King: "What is wrong with that one?" Eda: "We call this one childhood trauma." King: "Isn't she still a child?" Eda: "Well yeah, exactly."

Luz: "So uhh, ¿is that actually... you know?" gestures towards the rifle slung over Salen's shoulder Salen: "¿Is Reno actually what?" Luz: "I don't really know what a gun looks like, but, Eda seemed a bit concerned." Salen: Looks at the floor, "As I explained, she's... my only friend, atleast was before I met you. I wouldn't be here without her, and she wouldn't be here without me. It's just nice to have someone by my side all the time." Luz: "Well, I'm glad I can be another friend." Salen: Looks at Luz with slightly cloudy eyes "Yeah. Thanks, by the way."

Salen: "¿Have you never used a knife before?" Luz: "Well I had, but mamá was concerned after I nicked myself cutting carrots when I was little, so all my cooking experience has been from everything else." Salen: Empathetic/interested look; nod, continues to chop the vegetable up Luz: Raised eyebrow, "¿Have you ever used a knife before? You're like, murdering the potato." Salen: A little flushed, "Well Eda did say something about slaying apples."
