@saltiermorton SAID : "I’m going to regret this.”
“No chance. No one will even know.” Eyes flash towards the door, unopened in the last thirty minutes, and unlikely to jingle and chime any time soon. Pasty’s was dead, as expected. Fiona’s attempts to draw in the night life had fizzled out, and he could have predicted that. Hip millennials liked to be in the newest, hottest place, never the same dingy diner twice. Chicago was full of options for someone who knew how to hunt down the freshest scene, and he doubted very much that she would managed to pull the same size of crowd again. On one hand, he felt a little bad -- seeing the old place do well was good, but then, he liked the quiet, and liked the guarantee that he would get his usual stool and speedy service.
He’d seen a number of wait staff go in and out of this place, but Sierra seemed to stick, at least she had so far. It didn’t take her long to learn his name and expect his usual orders on repeat, but now he was really getting somewhere. Bribing waitresses to take home the last of the pie was one thing, But now he was really pushing the boundaries of his patronage.
“Hey, I’ll vouch for you with Fi even if she does find out. Not that she will. C’mon, I’m starving here.”
SOME MEME I CAN’T FIND!
