So what's up with the mercenaries? Are they a group of five women led by lotor are they part of a larger group? What kind of work/missions do they do?
Most mercenaries within the setting prefer the convenience of guilds to exercise collective bargaining power (and a measure of safety against those who would sooner slit throats than pay fees). The Sidhe Mercenary Corp was initially simply a large, prosperous mercenary guild, though, as of recently, when the entire corp’s service was purchased by an individual of unknown motivations, they’ve taken a turn for the more aggressive, as well as using much more potent experimental equipment.
Lotor, Narti, Acxa, Ezor and Zethrid are merely influential members, though some are newer than others- Zethrid has been with the corp since her infancy, and Ezor was picked up along the way. Lotor turned up shortly after Maahox’s acquisition of the corp, while Acxa joined afterwards. Narti is the most recent addition, but rose sharply through the informal ranks.
These ‘ringleaders’ hold their position for various reasons- some are well-connected- Zethrid and Acxa- some are simply anchored to the well-connected- Ezor- and others are near-complete unknowns but whose incredible skills and tactical brilliance (as well as favoring by their employer) have carved out a niche for them that cannot be ignored. Either way, they’re the ones with the biggest prices on their head. Some take pains to hide their identity, while others revel in the notoriety, and still others have no particular external identity to hide.
As far as what they’re doing, they appear to be stealing research material and technology for their employer, along with other crimes the objectives of which are only really known to Maahox, and, presumably, to at least a few of his employees.
