sam wilson haters are so fucking racist and moderate. and half of them aren't even right about FATWs because they themselves admit that they haven't watched the show in a while. maybe when engaging in discourse about a character, you should watch their show even if you don't "like it". or maybe lighten the fuck up and realize it's a goddamn show and there's real work to be done. but them hating Sam and calling Karli Morgenthau a terrorist tells me everything i need to know, that they will never shut the fuck up about a TV show, pay attention to our world, ans stand up for what's right/defend the marginalized.
this goes for *that brand* of Bucky fans too. your fav is not a baby. he's a grown man. he was not the only victim of HYDRA, and he understands that and wants to help. since HYDRA is now gone, he is one of very few people who can give closure to other victims, because he knew how HYDRA operated when he was still in their control. yeah, it sucks, but Bucky is a good person who wants to do right by people and understands that he can use this knowledge for good.
I'm so fucking tired of people villainizing Sam. He and Bucky are both flawed individuals. The way these flaws clash and eventually resolve are what makes this story so compelling. At the end of the day they loved and respected each other and pitting them against each other is a huge disservice to that. Sam had righteous anger about Bucky not doing anything about Isaiah, just as Bucky had a right to feel angry that Sam put the shield away.
These characters are allowed to be flawed. They're allowed to be messy and angry and frustrated, because they don't act on these feelings, but they do talk it out, and we see a resolution that leaves them in a better place than we found them. Sam does not victim blame Bucky. Sam does not hate Bucky. Sam is a man who is processing his grief. Bucky is also processing his grief. And because of flawed therapy, because they don't live in a perfect world, it gets messy. But they stay by each other's sides.
