A bit of early morning trivia...
The Boeing 747 that the President of the United States uses does not actually become "Air Force One" until the president is on board. Any plane carrying the president automatically becomes Air Force One. The plane typically used by the president is called "SAM One"-- "SAM" being an acronym for Special Air Mission. There is also SAM Two, a second Boeing 747 that is used as a backup when SAM One is being repaired, or for transporting the vice president. In the case of the latter, SAM Two automatically becomes Air Force Two.
