Araaka Reigen is a rustblood non-psychic who fakes being a psychic to avoid being culled and to get resources from clueless highbloods, but will take requests from lowbloods too. From lowbloods he accepts any type of payment, including the brown handmade carpet a bronze blood gave him because they didn't own much else. Finally he can have warm feet when he gets out of his recuperacoon. It's the little things in life. For some reason his hands are always equipped. Prefers being asleep because he always dreams of a glowing golden happy place where everyone is always super nice to him and the clouds show him funny things and sometimes useful information and sometimes horrors.
Bansho Shinra is his biggest rival, a bronze blood "psychic" (actually real animal communicator but Reigen doesn't know that), Shinra doesn't take their rivalry too seriously but Reigen puts his whole pussy into it, fighting for his life (literally as he might get culled if he isn't someone special).
Shinra knows Kazuya vaguely through MOG the first guardian, a reclusive blue blood who shelters himself because he's too strong. Shinra thinks it's futile to follow along with Mogami's instructions to talk to him and make friends but he keeps his contact anyway.
Mogami is manipulating Kazuya for Toichirou's sake, convincing him that he is too strong to be near anyone and he will only grow stronger, and he can't get far enough away from people. Don't worry though, there is someone who can show you how to control your power (meaning Toichirou).
Kazuya knows Reigen because Mobu (pre-game), a first guardian, sleep-teleported himself into the void and wakes up to meet Kazuya who says he thinks he is too powerful to make friends but here in this purple dream world he feels more secure. Mobu says he used to think that about himself too but he has a best friend who helped him understand that his powers don't make him special, it's all about how you use them. They're like knives, so don't point them at people, use them to create something instead. Mobu says that his best friend is called arbitraryAscendent online if he wants to reach out and Mobu is gaffeTorque. They both wake up.
Kazuya can't find anyone called gaffeTorque but he can find arbitraryAscendent and Reigen is like I do not know either of these bitches but a high blood on my side wouldn't hurt. I can show you how to use your power. Smart? Not very. But he lives every day like it's his last because it very well might be for a powerless rusty and now he has some protection.
MOG is trying to manipulate Dimple by telling him he's going to become a God when he grows up if only he listens to Mogami. It leads him to get an obsession with being an object of devotion and delusional that he will be more powerful than the condesce one day.
This leads him to meet Kazuya and Shinra through Mogami and Reigen through Kazuya.
Dimple and Reigen can't stand each other, Dimple sees straight through Reigen’s act while Reigen thinks his God complex is annoying as hell and he's like what is wrong with you? You want to be like one of those high bloods looking down on the world? Dimple is like damn straight I do, some people aren't fine being bottom scrapers like you! Their kismesisitude is astounding.
Dimple meets Mobu when Mobu sleep teleports again and they're on derse and Dimple is turning Derse into a culture centred on himself and Dimple is like huh you're a really weird Carapacian. And Mobu is like I'm not a carapacian sorry. You kind of look like someone I met once in another dream. Dimple is like whatever you're joining the cult. Mobu is like no thank you. Dimple does the milk challenge and it brings up a rage inside of him so Mob explodes a bit and uses some first guardian powers that kill Dimple's dream and real selves through universe-bending power and Mobu wakes up. Mobu tells Reigen about his dream (Reigen is from the future and KNOWS that sounds suspiciously like Dimple) and he's like kind of weirded out and distraught but reassures Mob that sometimes things that are painful in the moment lead to something better in the future and really he helped all those carapacians and the prospit Carapacians too probably.
Mobu's life: he comes to earth on a meteor but instead of letting it crash in his neighbourhood he shatters the meteor and teleports into his dad's lap. Dad and Mom adopt him. A year later Ritsu is on meteor that crashes on a Pacific Island. Baby Mobu teleports to the island, grabs Ritsu and teleports back home. Mom and Dad now have 2 boys.
They grow up similar to the anime except they don't go to the same school as the other kids. Mobu glows green in his sleep. Ritsu is insanely jealous of his powers. They don't remember how they were born.
