i love it when u talk about adhd or reblog posts because i always feel validated again tho it did make me cry today. what really caught my attention was that in one of those list-posts the "not being able to get any jokes" was listed as one thing OP suffered from and linked to ADHD - do u recognize that in urself? because i've wondered why im so slow on other peoples jokes when im quickwitted to make them myself and use sarcasm a lot but dont understand it when other people do even when its obvs
!!!! i go thru this ALL the time. i can be sarcastic/witty/crack jokes just fine (off my meds anyway), but I can’t for the LIFE of me understand when someone is joking with me. I take everything seriously and at face value and unless someone explicitly says “im joking” I think they’re completely serious. especially if I don’t know them that well. i just don’t??? understand jokes?? I only begin to understand when someone’s joking by how familiar I am with them
but stone-faced ppl scare me so much. ppl who can crack a joke and not smile and give me a cue they’re joking terrify me
