Samrat is the sincerest partner one can ever get...Gunjan is beyond just lucky and she better acknowledge that
MJHT Hours
Any Miley Jab Hum Tum fans here?
My heart just skipped a beat when I realised that in college Samrat had told Gunjan she looks best in white.
And years later Gunjan chooses to wear a white gown for her wedding with Samrat!
I’m just dying at how they showed how deeply Gunjan loved Samrat to remember the smallest things he had told her when they were just friends!
Rewatching Miley Jab Hum Tum - Episode 2
#2 College Rivals & Dia’s Plan for Her Cousins
Since I’m riding high on nostalgia, my heart just melts into a puddle to see Samrat and Mayank meet as rivals. There’s so much of NOT knowing! These two guys will form a friendship that’s thicker than blood in the future!
Samrat: Don't worry no other guy is going to ask Nupur out
Mayank: Why not?
Samrat: Because she is terrifying
Dearest Leila, Since you've taken up on the task on watching MJHT - I would really love your insight on how they subverted the trope of 'shy intelligent girl and hot popular dude' with Gunjan and Samrat. Much love, a fellow Samrat advocate.
Dearest S,
I love what they have done with this trope. Samrat’s character would have completely been a turn off if he had been portrayed as a typical college stud, who always had all the attention to himself, undermining everyone else around him. The fact that he wasn’t like that made him a favorite and so much loveable.
The same goes for Gunjan, she wasn’t portrayed as a typical shy girl who was always shy through all her years in college. She was only hesitant around new people. Not only she had gotten close to Samrat who she had been intimidated by initially she had gotten close to Benji (who could have had the almost the same effect as Samrat being his right-hand man)
I think this subversion made these characters more realistic and the character development felt natural.
Given the two characters, their equation got affected with that as well instead of following the trope.
I just don’t like the fact that she made him suffer (I know she was hurting too) but that's just me being biased as his advocate haha.
Additionally, I know for a fact I wouldn’t have loved it had they made these two characters typical. Specifically for Samrat, he was loved by everyone, not because of his status or popularity but his nature. And for Gunjan, she had been accepted warmly once the students got to know her.
I hope you like my answer, I loved the question!
Thanks for asking and apologies for the delay …school was a bit of a roller coaster last few weeks lol
No one...absolutely NO ONE could have played Samrat better than Mohit
