Go Go Gadget Samson Go Mic!
When I received an Amazon gift card from my aunt and uncle for graduation, I knew I had to use this power for good, not evil. That Chamberlain action figure was just going to have to wait.
HmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm... Okay. :c
With no specific idea in mind, I thought I'd hold onto it until either something came to me or a necessity popped up. I decided it would be best to spend it on something I could use for my future animation endeavors as well as the new computer that will be arriving in a week or two. Somehow, though I can't quite remember exactly how, this train of thought lead to a microphone.
I managed to locate a USB Mac and PC compatible portable condenser mic discounted for just under my gifted amount of $50 with an almost 5 star rating. This morning it was delivered to my house.
Yes, it is tiny. No, it can not be spread on toast.
Don't let the size fool you. It's surprisingly versatile and comes with a myriad of features (okay, so not that many, but it's still an excellent assortment). My only main woe is that I can't use the included software because it is PC-only. It took me some time to figure out how to set my Mac accordingly so that the internal mic would not interfere with the Go Mic, but I eventually worked it out.
Adjusting the input/output values is not my forte, but I'll get the hang of it eventually. I might nickname the li'l guy Turtle for obvious reasons.
Stop staring at my pile of disoriented junk on the dresser.
It may not be the ideal microphone, but it certainly is the perfect one for someone's first buy and possibly those who wish to store their entire inventory in their pockets. I am sure I will be putting Turtle to good use in the future.
Oh, and here's me singing with it.
Om nom nom... nom... nom...
