I don’t usually share my own thoughts about controversial topics on a platform where other people can view them, but I can’t help it this time. Enough is enough. Today, at Freeman High school, there was a shooting. A student who attended this school died. A child died. Others were injured. I am all for constitutional rights being realized and adhered to. I get it, the right to arms is a constitutional right. But so is the right to life. And what’s more, is that the right to life should be more important. How many people, how many children have to die because of shootings to make people wake up. Yes, I know that not all gun owners are bad people. Not everyone with a gun murders children. Not everyone with a gun takes the lives of innocent people. I understand that fact. I really do. However, enough bad people are able to get their hands on guns that something needs to be done. Enough is enough. It’s time for gun control. It is also time to do something about bullying, as it was the alleged reason the suspect brought weapons to school. There are serious problems that we need to face as a country. It’s high time we did something legitimate about them.
