Fanfic idea: Tony calls Rhodey, but Sam picks up the phone. Turns out, Sam's visiting Rhodey, who came down w/ food poisoning. That's too bad, now Tony's extra front-row ticket for tonight's basketball game will go to waste. Unless...Sam wants to come along instead? 👨🏻‍❤️‍👨🏿

This particular idea was inspired thanks to a Twitter post, but tbh, this isn't the first time Tony Stark x Sam Wilson has crossed my mind as a pairing.

This panel from the recent CAPTAIN AMERICA comic sorta made me imagine, what if Tony just kinda...found excuses to flash money for Sam? This meeting here? Invite Sam out to lunch after. They beat up a particularly tough bad guy? He sends Sam a complimentary bouquet of flowers.

Like, is either of them genuinely in love? Nah, but Sam is undeniably hot, and he's not only a grateful date, but a great time. Tony likes to play Sugar Daddy sometimes, but Sam really is funny, charming, witty & way down to Earth. Why wouldn't the Iron Man find him magnetic?

And if Sam should happen to look particularly ravishing that evening, as is his tendency...a quick kiss goodnight, when the date is done?
