Ah, finally. Samuel Sharpe, (Mike Vogel), a warlock of the Church of Dark has come home. He is 35 years old, and brings his familiar, Lucy, a Peregrine falcon with him. He is described as intelligent, introverted, and doesn’t know how to tie shoelaces. [Alice, 24, she/her, GMT, Imogen Hayes, none.]
Position in coven: Master of Runes
From an early age, it was clear that Samuel was meant for a lot more than this world could offer him. He was reading through books twice his age before he finished primary school, and by 8 years old, Sam was fluent in two languages and still he wanted more. He was a gifted child, and his parents had no idea what to do with him – to the point that they were fearful of what he could become.
So they isolated him, and they tried hiding him from the world until his days at the academy began. But despite how Samuel was neglected by his parents, he was a happy and kind child. He was always first in line to offer his help and guidance to others, and this made his entrance to the Academy quite the success. Noticed by his elders, Samuel was picked up by the watchmen of the Church of Dark during the first year of the war. With his knack for strategy and ability to learn quickly, he was lauded behind some of the army’s greatest successes and achieved fame for his multi-sided strategies. But coven became greedy, using Sam for his mind and intelligence and it didn’t sit well with him: he became uneasy, uncomfortable with all the bloodshed. Victories meant deaths for the other sides, and those deaths weighed heavily on him. The war couldn’t end soon enough for Sam, but now he has returned home, a large part of him that wants to leave. Leave his coven and leave the valley entirely. But no one leaves the Church of Dark alive, and Samuel doesn’t want to die.
The war had its toll on Samuel just as it had on the others. Samuel left behind the love of his life when he went to war, he left behind his fiance in the worst way possible. He had a choice, there was always a choice. But he made the wrong one, knowing full well that he was making the wrong choice. But when the Church of Dark called, no one could say no.
Samuel is known to be kind, he has a large circle of friends that all know him and trust him. He is not the type of person to ignore another’s suffering, always there to lend a shoulder if needed. He is an old soul, and despite his genius mind, very much oblivious to the eyes of women on him. It takes a lot to fall on the wrong side of Samuel’s temper, he has the patience of a Saint – but when you do, oh boy. You will live to regret it.
In all of his thirty-five years on this world, Samuel has only lost his temper twice. Once as a young child with his parents and the second time at the end of the war with the council of the Church of Dark themselves; the catastrophe of that is not something that anyone would forget any time soon.
Samuel said no, but they spoke over him. Discussing how they could expand Samuel’s plan on a larger scale, one that would give them more deaths in a smaller amount of time. A plan that would kill innocents. His fist hit the table, his temper exploding from the inside out. Whispers were that the surge of power felt that day was one that not many had experienced before. The entire building collapsed around them, on top of them. From that moment on, Samuel was placed on a watch list. Placed on probation. One small step set out of line, and Samuel Sharpe would be no more.
