Buried Treasure.
Nezzok lumbered along, this trip was unlike many of his others through the Shadowlands. And not the fever dream that so many in Azeroth collectively had, fighting the "Jailor" and befriending dead orcs and druids, ugly san'layn and winged ghosts. No. These Shadowlands where a place he had traveled many years now. A place between life and final death, a twisted shadowed version of Azeroth herself, always in a state of decay and ruin. Winds kicking up ash and dust and carrying with it the sound faint raspy exhales, death rattles and faint far off screams all mingled into one indecipherable noise that to those unaccustomed to it might be driven to the brink of maddness.
But Nezzok traveled on, feet softly crunching the dead vegetation which alerted the things hiding amongst the hellscape world. They wouldnt bother him. He was too big and even if they were to amass in number it wasnt like he was actually alive enough to be of any benefit to them. It was only when he brought living things through this place with him that the danger was more present. This time though there were no others to be mindful of as Nezzok followed along a set of thin silvery threads that lead off into the distance. The further along he traveled the brighter the threads became. What once had started as a glimmer of a spiderweb caught in moonlight slowly became a pronounced silvery line in the dark that eventually ended at a charred door. Nezzok grinned to himself as his giant paw pushed lightly on the door, fingertips indenting into the burnt wood of it sending small flakes of ash up to be whipped away by the wailing winds. Inside was dark and the threads shine trailed through the once lavish estate. So much of a cherished life once upon a time laid in ashed ruin and chaos but beneath the crumbled staircase the threads became lost in the shadows. "Come naw, Ah've come ta fetch ya. Aint nah need ta stay in dis place anehmore." he crouched down as he spoke allowing his giant mass to come more to what would be eye level of his hunt. After a moment the soft sound, reminiscent of wood being shuffled around in a fire pit full of ash came from under the staircase and eventually two figures appeared. One was a woman, the other a child though what kind of child was unknown its death had taken that from it and left it and the woman charred and ashed. Small flakes coming off of them and hanging in the air as they moved, the noises they made were strained and raspy from burnt vocal chords and lungs. "Ah know sum have fergotten ya precious an dat beh a ting dey must bear on dey own. But othahs have remembah'd ya an wish ta bring ya back ta us. " he held out a meaty paw to her "Ya've naht ta fear precious, Ah promise..Ah will take much bettah care o ya den he did. Ah can give ya a new purpose dat dunt leave ya waitin here."
She looked at him as she reached out towards his hand, hesitant like touching something that might bite or claw you even if it looked friendly enough. Burnt, black fingertips hoovered over his as a raspy noise gurgled up through her charred throat. "Dere be nah promises o a happeh endin jus new beginins an vengence fer wha was done ta ya sa callousleh. Come wit meh an meh an dose dat sent meh ta fetch'cha will protect'cha where othahs have fail'd ya."
Ash stained his hand as she slid her hand into his, he grinned "Come naw Precious we've a new face ta give ya an da youngin." he looked down at the child "An ya lil one, dere will be othahs fer ya ta know dat will care fer ya an naht letcha down eithah."
He took back through the ruins of the house and onward into the Eversong and to Zul'Mashar now to hide among the mindless cousins while he worked on their new faces until it was time that the Defiler called upon him to bring them forth to be instrumental in his new plans. And should the plans go accordingly he would get himself a new play thing once the favored son turned his back on what was once precious to him.
