Young Elizabeth and her brother Ignacio were separated from their parents at the U.S. border. After months of being molested and deprived of food and water, little Ignacio’s frail body finally gave out. Dumped in a mass grave, Ignacio was left out in the open to rot. Elizabeth managed to escape her cell to look for her brother, only to find him in a hole, occupied by hundreds of other children’s bodies. Her screams of agony reached Santa Muerte in the underworld; to which she replied, “There’s nothing more pure than the anger and rage of an innocent child!” The spirit of Santa Muerte possessed young Elizabeth, giving her the power to manipulate the cycle of life.
