I couldn’t believe this beautiful song wasn’t shared on YouTube so I created some sort of AMV with parts of the movie where the song appears. Finally I couldn’t upload it on YouTube due to copyright issues so damn, well here it is, let’s hope Vimeo doesn’t kick me up for this.

Yoko Kanno!

Yoko Kanno is a brilliant Japanese musician. She has been composing primarily for anime, film and TV since the mid 1980s. If you've seen Macross Plus, Turn A Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Kids On The Slope, the live action version of Honey & Clover, then you've heard her work. Of course, her discography is ridiculously longer than that, but why not cover the popular stuff to get your attention.

I wanted to use this time to highlight one of Yoko's electronic/vocal works from the Macross Plus soundtrack that never got much screen time and only made it to the Sharon Apple: The Cream P.U.F. mini album (only available in Japan). The vocalist is Gabriela Robin and there's a great breakdown halfway through. ^_^
