Sanctified Spells are special rituals made with the upper planes for mortals to have options in fighting evil. Any good mortal can visit the upper planes and perform a tenday ritual to gain one of these spells, and regardless of their class they can cast this spell using their own level as the caster level. However casting these spells requires a great sacrifice, normally permanently or for a year losing a state point. Some of the more powerful ones require levels, or even your own death. Some of the weaker ones require you to abstain from a certain activity for a time before casting the spell. You can cast the spell as many time as you make the ritual, but the rituals are lengthy and expensive so it might not be worth it. Thus due to the high cost of these spells, they are only intended to be used as emergency spells, when all else fails, you can summon a great force to help you out. For example, a powerful Paladin in a truly dire circumstance with no other choice might give up a level in order to Cast Armageddon, because even if they die in the process the summoned creatures might be able to save the day (because you know, Solar). These spells are extremely costly and risky but they might make the difference between life and death.
