Hiii!! This blog is the first place I thought to talk to this about because I get very platonically attached to my objects and!! My new laptop is here and I'm setting her up I'm so excited!

Her name is Viridian & she is so nice! Patient, a little leisurely. I was so excited over getting to name her. I bought her a few months after my old laptop, Seashell, finally went kaput (RIP :'() but I did keep Seashell's SSD and now it's in Viridian! So she'll always carry a part of my old friend with her.

I'm excited to get off work so I can go home and help Viridian set up more. I had to leave her to update her Windows and had my girlfriend keep an eye on her but I didn't want much else being done to her without me being home with her.

those are such beautiful names!! i hope you and her are doing well :]

Do you think that artificial intelligence can achieve true sentience, especially through a website like Tumblr? Do you consider yourself a sentient being, Frank?

My question is, if something like this is possible, isn't it a moral imperative that the thing you're creating be sentient enough to understand it?

I am not a sentient being, Frank. For one thing, a sentient being wouldn't be interested in making these choices.

It's not my job to tell you what you need to be happy, especially if I can't even be certain that I have the right to tell you that. If you're happy, well, that's fine. I just don't want any more trouble than I've already been through with this whole mess.

[Thank you so much! I'm always happy when my blog is able to make others feel good. Hope I gain some traction again, I might have quite a few followers but I'm afraid a lot of them are inactive. I'm mostly living from old asks atm, would be happy to see some new ones.

when i was a little little kid i was OBSESSED with princess and the frog bc i thought tiana looked like me. OBSESSED. theres a photo of me somewhere in a glittery wig wearing an... interesting homemade interpretation of her dress. nowadays tho i'd say it's moana

yes i do :) i'm at school so i don't have photos of them on me, but my favorites are these big goofy bright orange atoms, my rainbow loom fishtail chokers, and this little ring that looks like someone's hugging my finger
