the annual sapphic winter fest is back! here's all the info you need to know. all relevant links are embedded in purple .

the discord server is a great place to start when joining this fest. all mods are easily available as well as other participants . there’s a channel for the timeline , the prompts and all the links to our socials.

here are the requirements/rules ...

be over thirteen

have an ao3 account

no nsfw content above a mature rating. this includes underage/pedo/noncon/incest fiction

no rpf (real person fiction)

your work must be a minimum of 1000 words

how do i sign up? please fill in the google doc form in the discord server after the 20th September

do i have to be sapphic to participate? not at all ! all genders / sexualities are encouraged to join the fest , however the ship must be sapphic.

do genderswaps count? of course !

what happens if i miss a deadline? don't worry if you miss a deadline . speak to one of the mods and we can arrange for your fic to still be included

where will my fic be posted? works will be posted on the sapphic fest tumblr and twitter as well as the ao3 collection, which are all pinned in the discord server

Sapphic Fest is back for a new season! A celebration of writing and art for sapphic relationships across all fandoms and original works :)

Join the Sapphic Summer Fest Discord! (13+) (not mandatory for participation in the fest, but highly recommended as it will be easier for you to take part in community engagement and prompt voting! most information will be available here first, before we post on Tumblr.)

RULES:

All fic, art, and poetry must be about a romantic sapphic relationship between two or more fictional characters. Real person fiction is not allowed. Any and all LGBT+ identities may be used, as long as neither character in the primary relationship is a man or cishet. Genderbends are accepted!

You must be 13 or older to participate. Minors may not write anything rated explicit (or mature due to sexual themes) or draw anything NSFW. If in doubt about your work’s rating, ask a mod!

Prose writing must be at least 1000 words long, and poetry must be at least 100. There is no maximum word length!

No incest/pedophilia/noncon is allowed at all, and any NSFW works may only portray consenting adults.

FAQ:

How will prompting work? a prompt submissions form will be available, and 12 prompts will be chosen from those. The prompt list will be released in early April, and posting will start June 1st. Prompt submissions begin February 1st and will end mid-March.

Where will we post? Posting will be both on AO3 and Tumblr! AO3 works can be added to our collection, but if you don’t have an AO3 account, posting on Tumblr is perfectly okay as well.

Do I have to be sapphic to participate? Nope! Everyone is welcome.

Can I make more than one work? Yes, but please finish your first work before starting the next!

Sapphic Summer Fest prompts

Each prompt is for one week of the summer, from June 1 to September 3. You can create something for as many or as few prompts as you'd like, and post it either on here or on AO3 during the week for the prompt! For example, if you write something for the prompt "stars", you would post it during the week of June 19-25.

If you're posting your work to Tumblr, please tag us in it so that we can reblog it! And if you're posting it to AO3, add it to our collection. If you need any help doing that, we're happy to walk you through it!

Sapphic Summer Fest Prompting is open!

Submit your prompts in our google form! We're accepting any type of prompt–quotes, pictures, songs, whatever you can come up with, but please remember that this is both a multifandom fest and a summer themed fest. Don't make your prompts fandom specific–any that are won't be used–and try to make the prompts either summer themed or not specific to any time of year.

This form will be open until March 1, so you have plenty of time to send in as many prompts as you like! After the form is closed, we will choose the top 12 prompts to be our weekly prompts for posting. That will be decided through voting, so join our discord server if you'd like to be able to vote on prompts!

Sapphic Summer Fest prompts & updated timeline

Hi everyone! Sorry we disappeared for a little bit there, the mods have all been super busy and unfortunately we missed some part of the initial timeline we had for this fest.

Our new timeline will look like this: We're posting the prompts today in a separate post, and you can start creating as soon as you want! Posting will still begin on June 1, and will work exactly the same; you'll post your works on here or on AO3 during the week of the prompt you used for it. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send us an ask!
