Reality of Abu Bakar Ibn Quhafah from Sunni sources:
- In Sunnism, Regarded as First rightly guided khalifa, knowledgable.
- In Shiaism - Regarded as First Usurper, first to violate in Islam, first to violate the rights of the family of rasool allah, first man to create division among muslims, first to create fitnah in ummah.
- His real name is Abdullah Ibne Abi Quhafah called as Abu Bakar and was (companion and father in law of rasool allah)
Name : Abdullah, Atiq
Nick name : Abu Bakr.
Father : Othman Ibn Aamir (Abu Quhafah)
Mother : Salmah Bint Sakhr Ibn Aamir, Layla (another name)
Ibn Athir, Usthul ghabir says that ‘If layla is his mother, was the niece of his father.’
Birth : Born 3 years after Aml Fiel, year of elephant, 3 years younger to Rasool Allah. Approximately, 573 AD,
Ibn Athir, Usthul ghabir narrates from Aisha, “When Rasool Allah came back from Al Isra, the Mehra from the night journey, None of the sahib were with him, he came to tell this to the sahaba and the first to believe him was Abu Bakr regarding his night journey. Hence rasool allah called him Siddiq (the believer).
However, when we read Kitab As Sabir kitab Marifat as Sahaba by the famous staunch sunni author, IBN HAJAR AL ASKALANI he tells us that this title As Siddiq belongs to someone else not ABU BAKAR.
Ibn Hajar al askalani narrates that “Rasool Allah stated, that after me there will be a great fitnah, and I urge you to hold onto Ali Ibne Abi Talib (as). Because he was the first to believe in me and he will be the first to shake my hand on the day of judgement, And he is Siddiq Al Akbar and Farooq of my Ummah and Yasoob of the believers.”
Ibn Abdil Barq in his famous book Al Istiaab fi ma’arifat il Ashaab mentions, “Abu Bakar was the first man to convert to Islam, and first man to pray back rasool allah.”
Some Sunni Historians:
1) At Tabarri states, Abu baker was 50th person to convert to Islam.
2) Ibn Majar narrates, Ali had stated that I prayed before everyone else 7 years before others.
Historians mention, Abu baker came to propose Bibi Fatima (sa) so did Omar and they were both denied and rejected. Rasool allah gave them an excuse, “She’s too young”
Al Hakim al Nisapuri in Mustadrak al sahih mentions, “Abu Bakar proposed to Rasool allah for his daughter Fatima (sa), he was denied. While Imam Ali (as) proposed to Fatima Zahra (sa) he was accepted and not denied.”
Al Jahel, well known sunni scholar in khulasat kitab al usmania : ‘Abu Bakar was like Rasool allah on the same status and level of rasool allah. And Rasool allah was a leader and leaders don’t enter battles but encourage others to fight. So under protection he stayed out of the battle.’
(making excuses).
In the battle of Khaybar:
At Tabbarrani in majma al zawwahid, Al Kawi Al Iji in his book Al Muwaqif mentioned that In the battle of Khaybar, ‘On the first day, Rasool allah gave the banner to Abu Bakr and told him to enter the battlefield. Abu Bakr went in came back. He calls them coward and they called him a coward.’
In Musnad Ahmed Ibn Hanbal mentions, ‘Rasool allah said I will give the banner to a man. He loves Allah and his messenger and Allah and his messenger also love him and Allah will bring victory on his hand.’
* Examining the Courage of Abu Bakr according to Sunni Historians:
In Badr - No participation
In Uhud - Ran away with all the other Sahaba
In Khandaq - No where to be seen.
In Khaybar - Came back without victory saying they call me a coward, and I called them cowards.
In Hunayn - Ran away with rest of companions.
So where’s the courage? Where’s the bravery ?
In Sirat Ibn Hisham, most prominent biography of holy prophet (saws) by sunni historian. He narrates by Omar, Omar was asked, ‘What do you think about the bai’at of Abu Bakr was it a mistake?
Omar said, ‘Yes indeed. it was a mistake but we got away with it. However, Allah passed it’s evil and made sure no evil came from this allegiance.’
Abu Bakar (after the day of saqifa) was recorded saying, ‘O’ people I became your leader and I am not the best among you. By God, I’m not the best among you. And I hated being your leader. i wish there was someone else besides me who’d came to be the leader. And know that I have Shaytan that comes to me and deceives me.’

Death : 23rd of jamadil Ula, they year 13 after Hijra. When he died Omar Ibn Khattab prayed on his body.
How did he die?
- Most historian say he dies a natural death.
- However, Ibn Athir in ustul gabah mentions that Omar ibn khattab and Abu Bakar were eating together, there was poison in the meal of Abu Bakar. He ate it, and died exactly after one year. He was poisoned.
I ask everyone of you, Who could kill Abu Bakar? Who was more hungry for the power after him? Who would have benefitted more by killing him? Why don’t sunni’s narrate this real incident?
Think about it.
