On August 23, 2008 Amanda Lindhout and Nigel Brennan were kidnapped and held hostage in Somalia. Amanda was starved, beaten, tortured and raped. They were not released until on Nov 25, 2009. This novel is her story.
This was not an easy read…it was horrifying at times actually. It was also inspiring and uplifting as well. Ms Lindhout had an unbelievably strong will to survive.
This is a novel that stays with you for weeks, one you go over and over and over again in your mind. How did she do it, how did she manage to stay sane?
