I'm a little curious, since it's revealed that Lizzy survived and is currently being hospitalized, what's their relationship with Magician like?

Yaya this gives me an excuse to infodump about Magician and Lizzy

Ok so I've implied before that Magician, Alix, Lizzy and Sarah were a friend group (that Artful occasionally accompanies. It was Lizzy's idea and everyone involved was fine with it. He's like the weird dad they drag along.), but I actually wrote more info about Magician, Lizzy and Sarah!

So Magician as a kid didn't get to make many friends. This was due to Artful constantly moving for shows, which meant Magician moved with him and didn't often stay in one town or school for too long (eventually leading to them being homeschool)

4 - 5 years before the incident, (when Magician is roughly 15), Magician goes to watch Artful's show after school and once the show is over, Artful sees his child in the crowd and makes his way over to them to talk to them. Lizzy, who recently began watching Artful's shows a few months prior, excitedly rushes through the crowd to talk to Artful with Sarah following close behind and that's when she sees Magician (who right now, is quite introverted to people who aren't their father. They still are to an extent, their coldness just overshadows it)

Artful encourages his child to introduce themself to her and Lizzy, excited to meet the child of her idol and a kid her age, also introduces herself and Sarah and suggests they all hang out. Artful had some things planned so he couldn't accompany them but he saw the opportunity for Magician to make new friends so again, he encourages them to go hang out with Lizzy and Sarah, trusting Sarah will look out for the two.

The three then spent the rest of the day getting ice cream and hanging out, realising they had a lot in common. After that they basically became best friends.

Magician is naturally closer to Lizzy since they're closer in age and have more things in common. The two have a strong sibling-like relationship.

Magician and Sarah also get along, but squabble a lot. Most of their squabbles is played up however and most of the time they're not actually upset at each other. Magician sees Sarah as "the cool older sister (they) never had"

Ok now onto the actual question sorry I REALLY wanted an excuse to yap about that-

So Magician DEFINITELY heard about Lizzy getting attacked there is no way that they didn't. Artful probably didn't tell them himself but yeah.

Magician distanced themself a lot from Sarah and Lizzy after that mainly because of everything that was going on with them (being interviewed constantly, their family looking down on them, trying to process the fact their dad was a wanted murderer ect ect...) but also because they partially blamed themself for the incident (they felt like they could've prevented this. They could not) and thought Sarah would do the same even though Sarah was genuinely trying to reach out to Magician to check if they were alright and to let them know that Lizzy was okay.

Eventually, Alix basically forces the three to speak via phone call (Lizzy is still in hospital and Sarah refuses to leave her side, but Magician refuses to leave their dorm room out of pure fear of being interviewed) but it's hard for Magician to stay on call, knowing their father caused all this to happen and they feel that they could've somehow prevented this.

Magician DOES care for Sarah and Lizzy and misses them immensely, but can't help but distance themself from them out of pure unfounded guilt.

Unfortunately, Magician does not have contact with any of their old friend group or Artful once the apocalypse happens :(
